Welcome back to Collider's recap show for The Flash. Join David Griffin, Kaori Takee, and John Rocha as they review season 2, episode 10, entitled 'Potential Energy.'

Team Flash is finally back after their holiday break with a less than spectacular episode that left our recap team disappointed. ‘Potential Energy’ is an episode that is heavily focused on the relationship between Barry and Patty Spivot. The two actors have always possessed great chemistry, but the whole “will they, won’t they” scenario concerning Barry’s secret identity is becoming tiresome.

On the positive side of things, Battlestar Galactica alum Aaron Douglas gave a stellar performance as the slow-paced villain aptly named Turtle. Apparently Cisco has his own list of meta-humans that he’s been tracking, but since the team has been so busy with Zoom, he’s kept this a secret. There are moments in this episode when we really felt concern for the fate of our heroes. It’s nice to see that the writers are willing to take these kinds of risks with the main cast.

Even with its weaknesses, ‘Potential Energy’ remained a fun and engaging hour of television. It will be interesting to see how the presence of Wally West will affect the rest of the team, especially his relationship with Joe and Iris. Stay tuned to see what happens next.

Series Synopsis: Barry Allen wakes up 9 months after he was struck by lightning and discovers that the bolt gave him the power of super speed. With his new team and powers, Barry becomes "The Flash" and fights crime in Central City.
