Welcome back to Collider’s recap show for The Flash. Join John Campea, David Griffin, Kaori Takee and John Rocha as they review the eleventh episode of the second season of the CW’s popular DC adaptation, entitled ‘The Reverse-Flash Returns.”
Eobard Thawne has been a constant thorn in Barry’s side ever since he murdered his mother all those years ago. Now, back in Central City for the first time (in his timeline), Barry is faced with the difficult choice of what to do with his greatest antagonist.
Much of his decision is based on what Cisco has to endure towards the episode’s conclusion after Harry “Harrison” Wells develops a “vibe device” for Cisco to see into the timeline better. It basically taps into the fear receptors in his brain, which Wells discovers are the source of his power. The recap team agrees Cisco stole the show this week.
As entertaining as this episode was, there were a few moments where the panel felt the show didn’t live up to its standard of excellence. Our once hard-nosed detective Patty Spivot has transformed into a character we hardly recognize. After her announcement that she wanted to further her education, Spivot takes a turn for the worse when she forces Barry to reveal his secret identity so she’ll stay. Find out what other scenes stood out to our panelists in this week’s recap show.
Series Synopsis: Barry Allen wakes up 9 months after he was struck by lightning and discovers that the bolt gave him the power super speed. With his new team and powers, Barry becomes “The Flash” and fights crime in Central City.
