We have seen a few pics of star Rooney Mara on location for The Girl the Dragon Tattoo, but these appear to be the first where she’s in costume as Lisbeth Salander. She’s got the jet-black hair, the piercings, the boots. There is also a glimpse of her inside a place called “Salvation Tattoo.” A brief Google search turns up nothing — does this particular tattoo parlor have any significance in the books? (I’ll read them before the movie comes out. I swear.)
Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgård, Robin Wright, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Steven Berkoff, and David Dencik star alongside Mara in David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which hits theaters December 21, 2011. Hit the jump to see the set images.

Yeah, looks like she’s totally channeling Noomi at least in appearance. But that’s good since it came straight off the pages of the book. This movie is going to be so much better than the Swedish version (which I did like).

The look of the character is so cheesy. It’s not as bad as how Noomi looked, but still this is annoying. Fincher should have just left the project alone

i loved noomi’s/lisbeth hair in the book/movies, i was kinda hoping they’d keep it the same, short cropped look with the long piece at the front. but oh well, it looks good.
Either way, she’s hot.
