Earlier this week, we debuted a motion poster for Eli Roth's cannibal bloodbath The Green Inferno that showed a bunch of audience members screaming, cringing and freaking out in their seats (except for one awesome lady on the lower left who seems to really love watching people get et). Now you can get a taste -- pardon -- of what they were reacting to in the first red band Green Inferno Clip.

The film follows a bunch of privileged eco do-gooders who find themselves trapped in an amazonian jungle with a tribe of flesh-hungry natives. It’s a grotesque, gruesome affair that sends all manner of body parts flying across the screen with perverse exuberance. And you can get a small sample of the obscenity in the new clip. The film stars Lorenza Isso, Ariel Levy, Daryl Sabara, and Kirby Bliss BlantonThe Green Inferno opens in theaters on September 25th. Check out the very NSFW red band clip below.

I caught The Green Inferno way back when it screened at AFI Fest and I wasn't crazy about it, but if you're a big fan of Italian cannibal exploitation, you'll probably get a kick out of Roth's love-letter to the genre. It's packed with brutal gore effects, which are definitely a lot more realistic these days (barring the animal mutilations in Cannibal Holocaust of course, which were real, and keep me from ever re-watching that film). Keeping to the tradition of the subgenre, the film centers on a group of unlikable characters, so the movie essentially boils down to watching gross things happen to gross people. But for folks who are into extreme, graphic horror, there's some fun to be had.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Green Inferno:

Directed, co-written, and produced by Roth (Cabin FeverHostel franchise), THE GREEN INFERNO follows a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to save a tribe from extinction.  In an unfortunate twist of fate, when the group arrives, they are taken hostage by the very cannibals they sought to protect.
