First up from THR comes word that Dreyfuss will star in Cas & Dylan as “Dr. Cas Pepper, a dying man whose plans to check out on his own terms takes a reluctant detour when he winds up on the lam with a young woman (Maslany).” The Canadian indie, scripted by Jessie Gabe (Being Erica), will be Priestly’s directorial debut.
Deadline reports that Paul will replace Emile Hirsch in Long Way Down, a drama about a foursome who plan to commit suicide on New Year’s Eve and all meet each other on the rooftop of a tall building. Paul stars as a pizza delivery guy while the others play a struggling TV show host, a teenage girl and a mother of a disabled son. Jack Thorne scripted the adaptation of the Nick Hornsby novel. Long Way Down starts shooting this September in London.
THR reports that Howell is the latest tribute to join The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. She’ll play Seeder, a former victor from District 11 who returns to participate in the Quarter Quell, the 75th annual Hunger Games. Her character plays an important role in informing Katniss (Lawrence) of conditions back in her home district. Look for Catching Fire in theaters November 22nd, 2013.
Finally, Variety confirms that Barrese, who plays Doug’s wife Tracy, will return for the third installment of The Hangover. The new film sees the boys getting into trouble in Tijuana, but few other plot details have been released. The Hangover Part III also features Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Heather Graham, Ken Jeong and Mike Epps. Look for it in theaters on May 24th, 2013.
