First up is the news that Dormer will play Cressida in the final two chapters of The Hunger Games films. Without giving too much away, Cressida is a film director from the Capitol who ends up assisting Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in interesting ways. Dormer will be seen in Ron Howard’s Rush this September 27th, as well as Ridley Scott’s The Counselor on October 25th. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opens November 21, 2014, with Part 2 opening November 20, 2015.
The Wrap reports that Munn’s role is being kept secret, but would be a key supporting part beside Depp, who stars as “Charlie Mortdecai, a wealthy art dealer and part-time rogue who often gets himself involved in strange cases of crime and espionage. [The] story follows Mortdecai as he races to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.” The picture is based on Kyril Bonfiglioli’s comedic crime novel, “The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery.”
Deadline reports that Gleeson will star opposite lead Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake) in Unbroken, based on the best-selling Laura Hillenbrand novel. O’Connell stars as “the young Zamperini from the time he was a wunderkind member of the USA track team that competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics to his survival of a harrowing plane crash in the Pacific Ocean during WWII through 47 days adrift in a life raft to becoming a POW in a Japanese prison camp.” Gleeson’s character was also aboard the raft. Finn Wittrock (All My Children) is also in talks to join.
