Lionsgate has released a new The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 image. The saga concludes with Katniss (Jennifer Lawerence) and a unit from District 13 going on a mission to the Capitol to assassinate President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and end the war that has engulfed Panem.

I haven’t read the books in years, so I can’t recall what this still might be from, but at the very least, it’s safe to expect that this could be the most action-packed Hunger Games movie at least as far as the stakes are concerned. There may not be an arena, but I’m curious to see how much director Francis Lawrence shows the war surrounding the covert mission. The resistance scenes in Mockingjay – Part 1 were terrific, and I look forward to seeing how he expands on them for the finale.

Check out the new The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 image below. The film also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, and Julianne Moore. Mockingjay – Part 2 will have a panel at Comic-Con on Thursday, and opens in theaters on November 20th.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2:

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
