Watch 9 Clips from Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s THE LEGO MOVIE Featuring the Voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman and More

     January 27, 2014

With directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller helming The Lego Movie, I was confident the animated film was going to be something special.  But I will fully admit, the film exceeded my lofty expectations.  Loaded with great animation, a fun story, humor for both kids and adults, and an insanely addictive song (Everything is Awesome) that you’ll be singing again and again, The Lego Movie is truly something special and I’m beyond confident both audiences and critics are going to fall in love with the film.  If you’re not familiar with the movie, it’s been made using a mix of stop-motion and CG animation, and the pic revolves around Emmett (voiced by Chris Pratt), an ordinary construction worker who finds himself anointed “The Special”, a master builder who will lead a band of rebels to save the world from the evil President Business (Will Ferrell).  The film also features the voices of Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Alison Brie, and many others.

With the film hitting theaters on February 7th, Warner Bros. has provided us with nine clips.  Hit the jump to check them out.  You can also click here for all our previous Lego Movie coverage which includes posters, images, trailers, and more.

What’s the over/under on this film making any money?

    • Dan Bowen

This film is going to make a crap ton of money. I would guess 300-400 mil worldwide. Lego is international.

Hey listen, I love(d) building my own unique architectural designs with Lego building blocks as much as anyone, and used to spend hours a day doing just that. I just don’t quite get why anyone would want to watch a movie starring them. I’d feel the same way if they made an “Erector Set” or a “Wooden Blocks” movie. Not saying it can’t be done well, I just don’t quite grasp the point of it.

Yea. The difference is that there are currently theme parks around the world dedicated to Legos, dedicated stores in most malls, and licensing to many top brands and identities (super heroes, etc). I have a 6 year old and every one of his peers are lego obsessed. Lego is definitely in the midst of a renaissance and the film is capitalizing on that. The writing team is on point as well. The film will be huge (in my humble, prophetic opinion).

Sooooooo…I think I was right. The movie is amazing by the way. You should see it.

The more I see of this, the more excited I get. Bring on Feb. 7!!!

There are two ways for this movie to go. It will either be the big success, or a big flop.
