Lionsgate has released a new trailer for The Lincoln Lawyer, an adaptation of the best selling novel by Michael Connelly.  Matthew McConaughey stars as Mickey Haller, "a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln sedan."  Ryan Phillippe, Marisa Tomei, William H. Macy, Josh Lucas, John Leguizamo, Michael Pena, and Bryan Cranston also star.  Brad Furman (The Take) directs from a script by John Romano (Nights in Rodanthe).  Check out the new trailer after the jump.

I must say that I like the conceit of the movie, and McConaughey's particular brand of charm seems well-suited for the role.  Throw in a pretty great supporting cast -- with special mention to "William H. Macy's haircut" -- and The Lincoln Lawyer has the potential to be a solid legal drama when it hits theaters on March 18, 2011.  Here's hoping the script and direction live up to that potential.

Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) is a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln sedan. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of his career: defending Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe), a Beverly Hills playboy accused of rape and attempted murder. But the seemingly straightforward case suddenly develops into a deadly game of survival for Haller.
