Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master opens in limited release this Friday before expanding into more theaters next week, but you don’t have to wait that long to listen to the film’s score.  Anderson reteamed with There Will Be Blood composer (and Radiohead guitarist) Johnny Greenwood once again for his latest film, and the result is similarly unsettling yet beautiful.  The Master screened this week at the Toronto Film Festival to yet another positive response, but the general consensus is that there’s a lot to digest (read Matt’s review right here).  That’s not exactly a bad thing, and I can’t wait to see what Anderson’s put together.

Hit the jump to listen to Greenwood’s score.  The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.  The Master opens on September 14th.

Here’s the synopsis for The Master:

A striking portrait of drifters and seekers in post World War II America, Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master unfolds the journey of a Naval veteran (Joaquin Phoenix) who arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future — until he is tantalized by The Cause and its charismatic leader (Philip Seymour Hoffman).
