Tom Cruise, the Hollywood A-Lister most likely to get himself seriously injured for your entertainment, is worth seeing in just about anything.  Without him, a Mummy reboot could be a dubious prospect, but because he's involved and bringing his personality to the table, I'm curious to see not only how Universal's "Dark Universe" begins in earnest (sorry, Dracula Untold), but how Cruise could end up being its centerpiece.  The Mummy is definitely one of the biggest question marks of the 2017 Summer Movie Season, but I'm eager to see the answer.

’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 50 (!) admit-two passes to the Atlanta screening of The Mummy. To enter for a chance to see the movie early and for free, send an e-mail to Collider.Passes@gmail.com with the subject line “THE MUMMY”. The screening is on Tuesday, June 6th at 7:00PM at Regal Atlantic Station, so please don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable. Multiple entries from a single person will disqualify all entries from that person.

In case you haven’t seen it, here’s the latest trailer. The film opens in theaters, Real D 3D and IMAX 3D on Friday, June 9th and also stars Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe.  Check out the official website for more information.

Here's the official synopsis for The Mummy:

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy. Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.  From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
