First Trailer for THE MUPPETS plus Poster for Fake Movie GREEN WITH ENVY

The first trailer for The Muppets has gone online.  It takes a little while to get to the actual Muppets, but stick through the trailer for the first 50 seconds and you’ll get there.  This is really more of an announcement trailer, and I’m not sure what will set this Muppets movie apart, but creating a trailer that basically goes “Surprise!  Muppets!” isn’t a bad way to start.  I’m slightly confused by the set-up of a fake Jason Segel/Amy Adams romance flick called Green with Envy, but I’ll go with it for now.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer for The Muppets and the poster for Green with EnvyThe Muppets also stars Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, and a slew of celebrity cameos.  The film opens November 23rd.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Muppets:

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino house band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

  1. Amy Adams is voluptuous, gorgeous, sexy and beautiful.
I’m looking forward to seeing her as a cougar Lois Lane in Man of Steel.

  2. It’s amazing to me that you guys felt the need to explain this trailer, spoiling it in the process.

But then again, you write that you didn’t understand it. Let me just promise you that everybody else would have understood this trailer without any explanation.

  3. ya, i do wish that this hadn’t been spoiled for me by the intro / headline. if i were posting the article i probably would have found an interesting way to get people watching it without letting them know 100% it was muppet related

  4. Love, love, love it. Saw the trailer in front of POTC yesterday and they had me completely fooled. The reveal is perfect. I am so tired of all the CG kids movies that I’m really hoping this flick will be a hit. I saw the first Muppet Movie in the theater as a kid, and I remember how simple and joyous it was. Fingers crossed on this one.

  5. What did Collider spoil exactly? Who didn’t know that Amy Adams and Jason Segel were making a muppet movie? You should have known right away what it was. Stop pretending like you don’t check movie sites every day. Collider has been to stories on this for months now.
