Exclusive: New Standee for THE MUPPETS Starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams; Updated with New Poster

     July 27, 2011

I looked through the release dates just to make sure and, yep, The Muppets tops my holiday movie wishlist.  If only Muppets were promised, that would be enough.  Instead, the movie stars Jason Segel and Amy Adams, two of the most affable actors Hollywood has to offer, and a perfectly wholesome match to the material.

So it is with pride that we present this exclusive new standee, which you should start to see in theaters next month.  Thankfully, the image Disney sent over is very high resolution, because by my count there are at least 40 Muppets crowding around Segel and Adams in the frame.  Count for yourself after the jump.  The Muppets opens on November 23.

Update: We’ve added the final poster for The Muppets after the standee.

James Bobin (Flight of the Conchords) directed The Muppets from a script by Segel and Nicholas Stoller (Get Him to the Greek).  Cameos abound, including Zach Galifianakis, Jack Black, Ricky Gervais, Neil Patrick Harris, and Emily Blunt among many others.  For more, check out our set visit coverage:

Official synopsis:

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino house band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
