20th Century Fox and Threadless recently put out a challenge to artists around the world to come up with a t-shirt design centered on the long-running animated series, The Simpsons.  What followed were 832 submissions and well over half-a-million votes cast by the Threadless community to narrow the officially licensed t-shirts down to 29.  Now, you can proudly display the winners in your wardrobe.  Each t-shirt can be purchased for the special holiday price of $10 - $15.  Hit the jump to check out some of the winning designs and for more on how to get your hands on them.

Here's a sampling of a few of my favorites (starting with the winner), followed by more on the contest below:

CHICAGO, IL  —  Threadless, the global design community, today announced the winners of THE SIMPSONS Design Challenge, which launched in July 2013 to celebrate the show’s groundbreaking 25th season. Threadless and Fox invited artists from around the world to design tees featuring their favorite characters from the iconic television show THE SIMPSONS.  Submissions were evaluated and scored by the Threadless community.

THE SIMPSONS design challenge drew upon an incredibly large fan base, bringing super-fans and artists together in the Threadless community to create and vote on new designs,” said Threadless CEO Jake Nickell.  “We are thrilled that this partnership with Fox has given independent artists the opportunity to design officially licensed merchandise for the most celebrated animated series of all time.”

The challenge yielded global submissions from 64 countries, out of which 29 designs were chosen for the new t-shirt line. Winning designs were submitted from artists hailing from Australia, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Philippines, UK and US.  A total of 626,290 votes were cast in the process to help determine which designs would make up the first collection of officially licensed Simpsons merchandise created by a global design community.

Tees feature fan favorites such as Bart, Homer, Milhouse, Ned Flanders, Ralph Wiggum, and more. The collection can be viewed at http://www.threadless.com/simpsons-t-shirts

To date, Threadless maintains a community of 2.7 million artists and art enthusiasts and has paid out $8,744,411 to more than 1,200 artists.
