Columbia Pictures has launched the official site for David Fincher’s The Social Network, which is filled to the brim with the first official photos from the film.  The site is set up so that you can view 46 promotional photos and production stills, organized by cast member: Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Rooney Mara, Max Minghella, Armie Hammer, and Brenda Song.  Check out the images for yourself after the jump.

This has soared to the top of my anticipation list for the fall.  All the promotional material so far has looked fantastic.  And we must factor in the early review from Scott Foundas, a rave if there ever were one.

Here’s the official synopsis:

On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history… but for this entrpreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications.

/Film seems to think that the song heard in the background is a piece from Trent Reznor’s score — I’ll let you be the judge.  I grabbed at least one image from each actor-centric gallery, but there’s plenty more over at the official site if your interest is piqued.  The Social Network opens on October 1st.
