It's almost summer here in the States, which means that soon a viral outbreak will afflict scores of New Yorkers, turning them into vampiric monstrosities.  That's the crux of FX's new horror series, The Strain, from the fertile minds of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan.  This adaptation has been a long time coming, but the network is now reminding fans, by way of new The Strain posters and teaser videos, that the show will debut on FX this July.  They're certainly creepy enough to entice the uninitiated without giving too much away, while giving a nod and a wink to fans of the novels.  Hopefully we'll see more in the way of the show's content (and context) in the coming months.

As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
