Good news for all of you Twilight fans. While at the American Film Market (AFM), Steve snagged a photo of an updated synopsis for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 and 2, the final chapter of Stephenie Meyer’s insanely popular vampire saga. The news is unlikely to cause a stir in the devout faithful who have probably read Breaking Dawn multiple times by now. Those who are strictly invested in the cinematic adaptations, however, are likely to enjoy sinking their teeth into what we have to offer.  Just beware of heavy spoilers, as the synopsis essentially reveals the entire plot.

Breaking Dawn is directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) from a script by Melissa Rosenberg (New Moon). The final chapter has been broken up into two parts with the first set for release November of 2011, and the second November 2012. Hit the jump for more.

Here’s the synopsis:

In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster The Twilight Saga, the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.

After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal.

But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee, sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.

The suspenseful and deeply romantic Breaking Dawn continues the epic tale of supernatural fantasy and passionate love that has made The Twilight Saga a worldwide phenomenon.

Currently in Production. U.S. release via Summit Entertainment, November 18, 2011, and November 16, 2012.

  1. One thing

The Copy editor of this website should be ashamed of him or herself because how can someone spell “Saga” like “Sage”

Sage is what someone uses to cook with in the kitchen

      • “Pits” is a perfectly relevant way to word it. Stop looking for reasons to be critical, especially if you aren’t willing to read it in the context in which it was written!

      • “pits” is the right word to put there, that was not a spelling error. to “pit” two parties against each other means to put them in conflict.

  2. I was hoping this would tell us where in the story they are going to split it into two, has anyone heard that yet????? This is what has been worrying me since it was announced BD would be in two movies

    • The way it’s written, I’d assume shortly after Esmee’s birth. Before things get “out of hand”. That way the last film can be a little set up and a full out war.

At least that is what I am hoping for.

      • I also agree. I think Renesmee will be born and they won’t even show if Bella’s OK, just Jake and Edward working on her and they’ll fade to black as she’s nearly dying.

    • That is what I was hoping for too. This article dont really mean anything, we know all of this already…..sigh.

    • i know! i was hoping the same thing too. i mean come on…LOADS of ppl have read the books and already know what is going to happen!

  3. OMG OMG OMG!!! I think I just Robert Pattinson in my pants! Or I think I just Cullened all over the place! *fap* *fap* *fap*

  4. OMG OMG OMG!!! I think I just Robert Pattinson in my pants! Or I think I just Cullened all over the place! *fap* *fap* *fap*

They say that like if theres a fight.

  6. I would like that first part ends like this:
Rosalie is holding Renesmee and Jack is headed toward her to kill her – he thinks Bella is dead. So, evil look in his eyes and a thought of killing her – the end.
The beginning of the second part would be Jake’s imprinting.

  7. A year apart????? That is insane!!!I am disappointed that it is so stretched out like this. I will avoid telling my grand son and grand daughter, but kids will know at school. Good Scotty, beam me up!!!! Vickie

  8. i really hate that this is going to be a year apart! how theheck are they going to show the honeymoon! wowowowowowow!

  9. No. It’s obvious that Bella will be a vampire in the first part – somewhere in the middle, which is crazy. On the PCA Kristen said that she was a vampire in the morning – and they are currently filming part 1.
I’m not happy with this, because they’ll put too much in the first part … and then they’ll introduce other covens and all the Volturies in the second + the grand final of course.

  10. Hi there, just turned into aware of your blog thru Google, and found that it is really informative. I?m gonna watch out for brussels. I will be grateful if you happen to proceed this in future. Lots of other people will likely be benefited from your writing. Cheers!
