      Agreed.

Adults falling in love with babies and raising them up to be their wives–it'll take two movies worth of tortured reasoning just to lower the creep out factor.

  • Niuzeb

Summit Entertainment, STOP copying Harry Potter, you know HP will own you, and it's just going to be more embarassing for the entire cast by making a fifth film. Let's face it, HP is just better and the entire Twilight-gang are nothing but copycats.

  • Anon

Why in the frilly heck is Breaking Dawn being broken into 2 films? This totally sucks. It's just like what they're doing with the last Harry Potter film. Torture!!!

They are not 'copying' Harry Potter. The book is well over 700 pages. There is no possible way to fit everything into one film. The book itself is split into three separate parts.
If you hate Twilight, then why waste your time commenting, or reading for that matter?

    • James Sirius Potter

Number one, the length of a book has nothing to do with whether or not it can all fit into one movie. A perfect example is Beowulf, which is a movie that completely and perfectly encompasses an epic legend that is OVER A THOUSAND PAGES!!!

It is not how many pages there are, but the importance of what goes on in those 700 pages. Most of the 700 pages of Breaking Fail is simply Bella saying over and over again how hot Edward is, in a classic example of why authors should SHOW rather than TELL. Meyer fails to do this, and it contributes to the lack of quality in her fanfictions…erm, I mean books.

They are just trying to make money by copying the Harry Potter franchise. Don't they realize how poorly made these Twilight movies are?

  • Mitch

Trying to care … Trying to care … Trying to care. Nope, still don't give two shakes about this stupid series. Twilight needs to burn.

  • Cole S.

This is one of the most terrible decisions that I've ever seen. It might not be a financial worry, but splitting a teen romance book into two parts is incredibly indulgent. Conversely, a film series like Harry Potter, which has been going strong since 2001, is the type of film that actually deserves to be split into two parts. People have grown up with this film, it is undoubtedly the end of a multi-billion dollar franchise, and it tells a story that people of all ages can understand and enjoy.

The Twilight Saga is a marketing machine, and not much more. The story is unoriginal, predictable, and hollow – much like the characters. Splitting a teen romance franchise into two films can not be justified as anything else but a marketing ploy.

  • Stef

Seriously people stop comparing HP and Twilight! They are two different series and the companies behind them have every right to do what they want with the material given to them. The idea of copying HP by spliting Breaking Dawn into two films is stupid, sure maybe they got the idea from it, but its not like breaking dawn doesnt merit a two-part film being over 700-pages. I for one think its exciting news! Also, you do all realize that manyyyyyy Twilight fans are also HP fans, so why are all HP fans who hate Twilight trying to pick a fight? ;)

    • James Sirius Potter

Simple, because people are tired of seeing fangirls obsess over a book that is so bad it could have been written by a five year old, is full of inconsistencies and plot-holes, makes no logical sense within its own universe, and promotes ideals such as racism, stalking, obsession, relationship abuse, pedophilia, rape, manipulation, abandoning those close to you, altering yourself to fit a clique, and child-grooming. What is worse, rather than simply admit that these themes are in the books, Twilighters try and convince people that they are GOOD things. “No, Edward stalks Bella cuz he luvs her! Stalking is a good thing!”

  • CharliesStache

Yeah its 700+, but not a lot happens in those pages.

  • TwightPotterFan

Mordor 89 I think they'll both be good. I'm a fan of both franchises. Don't you think they've both been pretty well made and true to their books?

  • TwightPotterFan

Thank goodness! This is exactly what I was thinking while reading these post.

  • Niuzeb

I've read the book, and therefore I can say that they can easily fit the book into 1 movie because nothing happens in that book.

Look at the bright side people, at least many virgins won't try to commit suicide for a little longer, at least the wait for Breaking Dawn 2 will keep them occupied.

  • Cole S.

The reason why we're comparing the Twilight and Harry Potter franchises is because, well, they hold many similarities. They have caught on incredibly fast with a certain demographic, introduced classical conceptions of mysticism and wonder into a modern setting, and have both produced financially successful movie franchises.

Bearing this in mind, the Twilight series is what readers refer to as a “trash” novel. It is an overly indulgent book that deliberately draws out plot lines and character development. I mean, in the first novel, almost three chapters were dedicated to Bella being in a hotel room with Jasper and Alice. These events could have been communicated more effectively to the reader within one chapter, but the author chose to draw it out.

Conversely, the subject material of Harry Potter is something that can be enjoyed by any gender, any age, and any demographic. The book may draw out certain events, but unlike Twilight, always has some form of important character and/or plot development occuring. As I stated earlier, Harry Potter also has a higher justification for the splitting of its final chapter into two films, due to its higher demographic, cultural impact, and greater quality in terms of story and character development.

The Twilight series is an indulgent teen romance fantasy and not much more. It does not deserve to have its film split into two parts.

if hps fanbase is begger why did new moon beat HBP

    • James Sirius Potter

Why did New Moon beat Half-Blood Prince? Let’s see:
Half Blood Prince Movie Box Office Gross: $933,959,197
New Moon Movie Box Office Gross: $709,711,008

Yea, that sure was close. Not really.

Here’s another way to put it in perspective for you, the LOWEST grossing film of the Harry Potter series was Prisoner of Azkaban which made $795,634,070. The HIGHEST grossing film of the Twilight Bullshit fangirl craze was New Moon which, as I just said made only $709,711,008. (I’m repeating this because I know a lot of Twilighters are quite stupid).

The LOWEST grossing Harry Potter movie made more than the HIGHEST grossing Twilight movie. Doesn’t that tell you something about their relative popularity?

Not good enough for you? Let’s go books. The Harry Potter series has sold OVER HALF A BILLION COPIES!!! Twilight? Roughly 80 million. Deathly Hallows outsold the Twilight Saga ON IT’S OWN!!!

Thank you for playing, you lose.

y is eclipse and the first installment of breaking dawn so far apart? Thats really obnoxious and annoying. They started filming eclipse once they stopped filming new moon… i don't know a year and a half is a really long time. Then we'll have to wait another 6 months for the next installment. idk its stupid. they cud have just made it into a 3 hour movie.

  • Nave209

If each of The Lord of The Rings novels (which are miles better than any of the Twilight books) can be made into a single film, than so can Breaking Dawn. If Deathly Hallows (again, a MUCH better book) hadn't been broken into 2 films than this wouldn't even have been considered. There's only one reason why they're doing this – $$$$$

  • Maria

Loosers! you just know how to copy harry potter. Only because deathly hallows was split it doesn´t mean Breaking dawn has to. There isn`t enough good plot for that neither.

  • memmem

Harry Potter will be in peoples minds forever. Twilight probably in 5 years or less nobody will remember. that´s because harry potter has grown up with us and makes part of our lives. HARRY POTTER É MÁGICO!

  • memmem

that´s an easy one. Because twilight fans are completely nuts and buy and buy stupid merchandise; they spend days voting because they really don't have a life (ex: mtv movie awards- what a crap!) and go to the theaters thousands of times

  • Cole S.

New Moon didn't beat Half Blood Prince. It beat it on opening day. Half Blood Prince's domestic and overseas (international) gross outweighs New Moon. Do your research.

  • Sanslesh

I don't give a damn about HP and Twilight competition,i liked both(Harry Potter Books,And the first 4 movies, since OOTP and HFBP,sucked.Twilight on the other hand,i liked only books).

The Twilight movies sucked let's face it,they don't want to spend money on these movies.

    The 1st 1 is a horrible fail.
The 2nd 1 was better,if you're comparing it to the book,so except for the werewolves and the ending, there was nothing interesting to watch, and the 2nd book was also,my least favorite, since it took like half of the book to explain how Bella was in pain and all that crap.
I'm looking forward to the 3rd,but seeing that the budget is only 65 mil,i don't expect much.

Harry Potter last 2 movies sucked, but at least they got special effects…
    Twilight's got nothing.
Hopefully if they're splitting the final book into 2 movies, they will spend more money.

At least 300+ mil on both movies….

  • Sarah

And 450 of those pages are just Bella describing Edward.

  • Liz

Harry Potter will crush any Twilight movie any day. Talk about EPIC and not the same damn boring thing throughout the whole franchise. I mean really, Did they have to split BD too, I read it and It was not necessary at all. I can't wait until this stupid franchise is forgotten, while HARRY POTTER is remembered for generations. You will see Twilight Lovers: You'll cry once you see the numbers Deathly Hallows makes :) I just can't wait!

  • Liz

OMG I totally agree with you on this. What are the chances of this happenening in the book? and it was so creepy too. Ugh I can't wait for this to be over already!

  • Milnekids3

I think this is the stupidest thing i ever heard, just show the damn movie and get it over with, why split it up???

  • Mop-me-up@hotmail.com

how about you learn to spell your well loved film 'HARRY POTTER' instead of changing it to HP. (HP is a sauce brand!)
They only split it into two films because the book is 754 pages long, and do you really recon they could make a two and a half hour film of 754 pages long? I think not..
    thankyou :)

    • James Sirius Potter

Length does not equal content. If you eliminate all the time that Bella spends thinking about how hot Edward is, you’re down to about 300 or so pages, which easily fits into one movie. Please enjoy your sad little life.

  • kentuckyfriedchops:)

Harry Potter is about wizerds, Twilight is about vampires and wearwolfs.
    COMPLETLY DIFFRENT!! :)
people are allowed there opnions. people can like Harry Potter and like Twilight.
Get the fuck over it :) thanks

    • James Sirius Potter

      Harry Potter has a plot.
      Twilight does not.
      Moving on.

  • :)

Ok, i have read the books way befour the first film ever came out.
I have seen the movies like 1-2 times..
some people can like it without being obsessed..

  • HP_FOREVER

Part One, of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will destroy both part one & two of breaking dawn. Sorry but its the truth. I mean if Eclipse got owned in 2 min & 3O secs. by the official Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows trailer, I'm sure the full movie WILL have DESTROYED breaking dawn..

  • Meg G.

Okayy so first of all i wanna say why the hell is everyone so against the twilight saga's? Is it becasue they threaten you, all you Harry Potter fans? And i want to say im also a harry potter fan (not a big one),and i saw the half blood prince, and it was good and all, I gotta say the only thing that was acutally intresting in that movie was whenn that guy with the black cloak turned out to be the half-blood prince. Everything else just kinda dragged and i didn't like the ending.( because it was just them stareing out in the sunset:/ i got bored.) No offense to the harry potter fans that just my opioun. Okayy? dont come kill me lmao. And it also ticks me off that the all the movies and books are just about being scared of that crazy powerful guy that killed his parents. (not enough of a huge fan to remember their names) It gets kinda tedious and im bored. I'll probably see the movie dealthy hallows on dvd, not that intrested to see it. And second of all, the ONLY reason that they are making Breaking Dawn into two parts, is because its a over 700 page book, (which is cut into three parts in the book), and theres ALOT of things going on in the book, whoever thinks there isn't. So honestly, how do you expect Summit Entertainment to react. There's no possible way that, that movie can be in 2hr and 30min people. Its honestly impossible. If it was trust me the fans would be dissapointed, and so far im saying im the biggest fan of them all, (or at the least the most obsessed) and i can tell you it's not going to work. And im not saying the movie wont be PG-13, but if Summit wants to do it completly by the book, that bicth is gonna be Rated R to the max. Losts of violence and blood and sensualiy & to much for it to be Rated PG-13. Just saying. Which honestly im fine with, im turing 17 this year and 18 the next just in time for the second movie to come out. Okayy back to the comparing if you really want to “compare.”

I'll admit that the first movie of twilight, was not the best and the greatest, but that's because the actors nor director knew how HUGE and PHENOMINAL it was going to be, based on the BOOKS that came BEFORE the MOVIES.
J.K. Rowling is great, awesome, made only the HARRY POTTER BOOKS, (as far as my knowlege knows). But hey people shes not the only fucking writer out there thats been a HUGE success! Stephenie Meyer is just as sucsseful and powerful. And shes not only made the Twilight Saga's, shes also following her book The Host, which my the way is fantastic. I read it all through the night and it was nothing close to twilight, yet why is it everytime i open a book of hers twilight or not, i can't seem to place it down? I never get tired of it, and it gwans at me that i have to sleep at night? Isn't that what a story should be able to do? To captivate readers and draw them into the book, as if their really there, as if their seeing these things with their own eyes. I felt every little thing that book wanted me to feel, EVERY LITTLE THING. never have i read books that make my heart race, my mind wander, myself feel panic when showed,
because i cant put that damn book down. THAT'S whats a book should do to you. COMPLETLY PULL YOU IN. Im defending Stephenie Meyer's books becasuse their not only amazing but shouldn't you be pulled into a book and not have to worry about life for one second? I think that's the way you should be pulled into book and that, is what every great reader needs.

Now to talk about the movies. Twilight wasnt the greatest, but there was a lot of demand in making this movie, and fans or not fans but soon to be fans, came to see that movie. Low- budget? the first one, yes. But Dont be jealous at the numbers Twilight makes. I remember the premire night of Twilgiht, and i swear to you, i went an hour early, and i stood in an exclusive line for Twilight for an hour. Yes, worth the wait, especailly because of Robert Pattinson:) And when i went into the theater there were people STANDING BY THE WALL. lined up sitting on the ground, the intrance completely blockedd. ANd there were 5 theaters showing the same movie.

New Moon, saw that in South Carolina. Much much better than twilight, defintly loved the kissing and fighting sences. And not to mention that wolves were great, especailly Jacob(: And that one was just as crazy. I like the fact that it stays so close to the movie all of them do, (not saying Harry Potter doesn't). It makes me happy to be a fan, and new moon the movie was one of my favorites.

    Eclipse(:
I think it's the best so far. And im sure you HP fans have noticed they get better every time. The love triangle was right on the money, the script right on the book, shit Stephenie Meyer might have wrotten it. The action, was by far my favorite, especailly when he killed Victouria. Whoever thinkks that twilight doesn't fantazice about the vampires powers, your very mistakin. It shows it all in Eclispe sweetheart. And new moon. And i love the fact that you HP fans think the twilight saga's not internationally known? Hello! Bitchass thats all it fucking is! Internatinally Known around the world, the books and the movies combined. Have you noticed that? With the books and movies combined all around the world, not to mention the more people go buyher books and see the movies, how much money, fans, merchandise, stardome, there actually is in these books and movies.

Breaking Dawn will be legend. The book already is. Keep in mind that these movies get better every year, the stars only more talented and grow more into their chacthers, and the plot's already in the book. Its not illgeal to have 2 of the most populer books and movies cut into 2 parts. I dont care how strong you think the HP flims and books are, thats no importance to me. and as i said over 700 pages in 2hr 30min? Not possible. The movies being done into 2 flims. get over it, or go see it. Dont act like you dont ever read the books or see the movies. If you didn't how would HP fans know of this anyways. WHy in the fucking world would you even give a shit. give enough thought to it as to see this aticle and you just have to talk trash about the twilight saga. You have no place to talk! None whatsoever. And if you hate it so much, why the even hell waste your time on this site talking your crap because, let me tell you something. People only talk their crap, if their threatned, want recongnition on what they like, are insecure about what ever means it was they want to talk about. Just plain jealousy. R yall scared. think the twilight saga will beat HP ass? I do. I do and i know when a movies going to be good or bad, stick to the book, and impresse people. And based on the BD book and the Academy Award Winner Bill Codon director im pretty damn sure it will beat your HP ass. Not to mention the amazing screenplay writer Mellissa Rosenburg and the Only Stephenie Meyer as one of the Producers. I might sound smug, but it all comes down to this amazing book, director and screenplay writer, and the cast, and with all of these people im certain it wiill be amazing. It's the last of the book, and better late than never. The last one will be lenged because it the end and it gonnna end with a bang. Im certian of that. And breaking dawn damn well does deserve to be cut into two flims. The fucking book is crazy as shit, which i love, so much going on i never got bored.
Oh and mitch whoever the hell you are, go fuck yourself. I might not know you, but i already damn well dont like your attitude. Or you. How bout you burn alongwith your boring ass, tedious, sleep-worthy, HP movies. Even with two instalments, its nothing compared to the twilght saga's fame and success with everyone that loves it, even around the world.

Oh and cole. S? if any of yall ever come back to see if anyone repleyed to your comment i hope you read this. While your little flim might be for all ages, maybe thats no the point. The point is to stick to the book, and if this movie is to mature for any of yalls liking, thats not my problem, and its not the movies problem either. i can tell you my mother is the biggest critic you'll ever meet, and even she loved the movies, eclispe being her and my favorites. i cant wait to see how much more im going to love BD. even my little sister for the wolves. And HP isnt for all ages, it scares little kids, like my sister and it just gotton really boring for me. so much im not intrested in seeing it till dvd. and another fact is BD will be realeaseing their last movie right after HP second movie is done. thats a fact. the reason being harry potters coming out this year. BD part I not till 2011. Harry potter soon after, and then im sure BD II not till the end of 2012. becasue of the size and things happening in BD. And it can be cut perfectly ya dumbass! the first half bella a human the second movie her becoming a vampire. its that fuckin simple. Ya dumbass. Dont talk your shit, understand?
For now thats all i have to say and i think i said it all.

So if my book hasn't made it clear enough for you, maybe this will.

Don't talk shit when you don't know what the fuck your talking about.

    • James Sirius Potter

OK, I’m going to answer your rant of a post in as short a manner as possible, unfortunately as your post was so long my response need be rather lengthy as well. First, your post is a perfect example of how quantity is not equal to quality. Like the Twilight Books themselves, your post goes on and on and on…but accomplishes nothing. You made no valid points, and did nothing but waste the time of everyone who read it…like Twilight.

The fact that you do not remember the names of the principle characters in Harry Potter proves one of two things. Either you were so caught up in your desire to dislike Harry Potter because of your obsession with Twilight to pay attention to anything that took place, or you are simply that stupid that you really cannot remember. In either case, this serves only to hurt your argument, as it proves you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Your comparison of Meyer and Rowling is completely inaccurate. Rowling is far more successful and influential than Meyer is or will ever be. When Meyer is given a Royal Order, asked to speak at a Harvard Commencement, or even sells close to the number of books that Rowling has sold then MAYBE we can talk. And before you go fangirl on me, Rowling has sold OVER HALF A BILLION books, where as Meyer has sold somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 million. These are ACTUAL statistics, because unlike you and your precious Meyer I do a little thing called research. Meyer has admitted that she did no research, that is why the Quilette Tribe is in Forks, WA not Peru, and why Isle Renesme is somehow a few miles of the West Coast of Brazil. In case you have not studied geography, there Brazil DOES NOT have a West Coast.

Your mention of Meyer’s books pulling you in is something that may be true for you, but cannot be said of a majority of readers, that is simply a fact. There are simply too many lulls in the action for it to trully keep you gripped unless you have an unnatural obsession with it. On the other hand Harry Potter keeps you involved the entire time whether you want to be or not because of the pace of action. These are literary studies conducted by people with MASTERS DEGREES IN LITERARY PSYCHOLOGY, not my opinion.

You also mention the success of the movies, which is a completely inaccurate statement as well. Harry Potter has no reason to be ‘jealous’ of Twilight’s success because Harry Potter’s success has far outstripped that of Twilight. Sorceror’s Stone, which made the most out of all the Potter movies, grossed $974,733,550. Breaking Dawn, which grossed the most out of all the Twilight movies grossed $709,711,008. To give you another example, Prisoner of Azkaban, which grossed the LEAST out of all the Harry Potter movies, grossed $795,634,070. That means that the LOWEST grossing Harry Potter movie made more than the HIGHEST grossing Twilight film…that’s some success. Not to mention that the Harry Potter series as a whole has earned $5,417,104,072 the highest total for ANY series in history (average of $902,850,679) to Twilight’s $1,794,791,217 ($598,263,739 average).

Furthermore, the fact that Twilight is able to include everything that happens in the book while Harry Potter is forced to leave so much out is a testament to how much more complex and developed Harry Potter is. Twilight is a kiddie book written for grownups. Harry Potter is an epic novel.

Your next point is about International Recognition. Again you lose out to Harry Potter which has been translated into 69 languages in over 200 countries. Twilight? 38 languages, and less than a hundred countries. And while those numbers are still respectable, Twilight has actually had very little success outside of the United States because it is not universal like Harry Potter is. In addition, your comment about Twilight being ‘worth more and more’ is also moot as the Twilight brand is worse a mere $3 Billion, while Harry Potter is worth over $20 Billion. And before you point out that $3 Billion is a lot of money, it is not a lot of money for a supposed ‘global phenomenon’. However, for a fad…which is what Twilight is…it has done very well I admit.

“People only talk their crap, if their threatned, want recongnition on what they like, are insecure about what ever means it was they want to talk about. Just plain jealousy.”

This next point makes absolutely no sense, and proves that you cannot be bothered to use proper grammar or spelling. But ignoring your butchery of the English language, this point is completely inaccurate. To give you an example, a very common topic of discussion when it comes to world history is the Holocaust. Call me crazy, but I don’t think anyone is jealous of what the Nazi’s ‘accomplished’. Nor do I believe that people are insecure about it, and they most certainly don’t like it.

Oh, look at that, yet another thing you said has been proven to be nonsense. Does that bother you? Make you angry? Here is a suggestion, stop using opinions to “Prove” something and stick to FACTS!!! Because that’s how you PROVE something.

The fact that you have launched a rant against this ‘Mitch’, telling him to fuck himself and burn just because he voiced an opinion…which is exactly what your entire nonsensical post is…further proves that you have no idea what you are talking about. Furthermore, your point that Harry Potter is ‘nothing compared to Twilight’s fame and success’ is the most ridiculous statement that I have ever seen. First of all, Twilight has very few fans outside of the United States while Harry Potter is loved the world over, as I have already proven. Secondly, as I have already proven, whether we’re discussing books or movies, Harry Potter has enjoyed far more success than Twilight could ever dream of.

Once again, your words are meaningless and carry false information. Perhaps you should heed your own advise and “Don’t talk shit when you don’t know what the fuck your talking about.”

By the way, cursing does not make your point stronger, it actually weakens it because it shows a lack of intelligence and self-control, as does your poor grammar and spelling. But then again, seeing as there was not even the slightest hint of factual information in your post, that was obvious from the start.

You also make the point that a film being for the ages ‘is not the point’, and rather that the point is to ‘stick to the book’. I’m going to stop for a second and try and riddle out some kind of coherence from this statement. Sadly, I don’t think anyone can accomplish that feat. The Harry Potter movies are for the ages BECAUSE the books are for the ages, and the Twilight movies are not BECAUSE the books are not either. That is the entire point, the fact that Harry Potter is for the ages cements its place above Twilight unarguably.

I would like to continue by informing you that the opinions of your sister and your mother are meaningless. I’m sorry but it’s true. I can point you to thousands of people who say that the Holocaust never happened, but that doesn’t make it true either. Despite what the three or so ‘infallible sources’ of yours seem to think Harry Potter does not frighten small children, save those who are so wimpy that they cannot watch Bambi without wetting themselves, and has had cultural impacts that will reverberate for generations. Disagree? Well then I guess the fact that no book in the history of literature has received more media attention than Harry Potter really is meaningless after all isn’t it?

Oh no wait, once again you are wrong. And by the way, yes that includes Twilight. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows alone has received more media attention than the entire Twilight Saga combined! And what with the other six books on top of that, not to mention the three supplementary books, fan spin-offs, fanfictions, and oh yea A THEME PARK! Once again, this is not opinion, this is a statistical fact. That is how you prove an argument…with facts!

The one fact you actually state, congratulations…it seems you did manage to squeeze one in there, is that Breaking Dawn (which you could not even take the time to write out) will be released after Deathly Hallows. Can you please explain to me why this is even remotely relevant? Considering that Sorcerer’s Stone (book) came out in 1997 while Twilight (book) was released in 2005 means that logically the Twilight saga should not be finished until after Harry Potter. ESPECIALLY, when you consider that the movie adaptation of Sorcerer’s Stone was released in 2001 while the movie version of Twilight came out in 2008, if the Twilight saga finished first then there would be some serious question marks.

Before I finish I would like to make one more point. For some indiscernible reason, many Twilighters view the fact that J.K. Rowling took 17 years to write the Potter books (she began writing the first books in 1991, but didn’t get Sorcerer’s Stone published until 1997), while Meyer took only 4 years on her work as points in Meyer’s favor. I would like to point out that it is the exact opposite that it the truth. The fact that Rowling took the extra time to plan everything out, develop and understand her characters, and her world is what makes Harry Potter so much more incredible. The world is so real, its culture, history, and everything about it flow together. Meyer did not do this, and that is why her world is full of contradictions, and things simply do not make sense. She rushed, and it shows. Also, when you plan to make a 2 book series, and then change your mind and decide to stretch it out over 4 books ‘because it was so popular’, in Meyer’s own words (in other words: to make more money), then the content is very diluted.

The last thing I’d like to say is to once again direct my point at this news itself. Breaking Dawn does not need to be two movies, Breaking Dawn should not be two movies. Length is not equal to content and quality. Just because a book is 700 pages long does not mean that all 700 pages contain anything of value. In the case of Twilight, most of those pages contain very little substance. There are only two reasons that Breaking Dawn is being made into two movies:

      1. To milk every possible cent out, plain and simple.
      2. To copy Harry Potter. This is not the first time that Twilight has tried to gain some real success by mimicking Harry Potter, and it will not be the last. In all likelihood, this attempt will fail just like the rest, but it’s still getting old.

I’m sorry for the length of this post, but it was necessary in order to ensure that all of the poorly constructed ‘points’, most of which were not even that, were met. I hope that you now have some understanding of why your words are completely inaccurate and your statement completely pointless, but I cannot change your mind. While you are entitled to your opinion, you are not entitled to make up your own facts.

Thank you for your time, and long live Harry Potter.

hey why dont you shut the heel up….everytime someone has an opinion to express that doesnt appeal to what you think you have to open your big mouth….why dont you shut your cock sucker and let people fell and say whatever they want

    • alex

      Are you on drugs?
You are one of the most uneducated fangirls i have ever heard rant on about pointless meaningless crap with no evidence whatsoever!
Everyone knows that harry potter beats twilight any day, the books, the films, the amount of money they make, the more fans they have , the writer ANYTHING you can think of!
      Twilight is trash fullstop.

dude how can it be 754 page long book! THERES NO PLOT in the twilight series shit. its just fucking words slapped together telling teens thats its awesome to get knocked up by a emotion cripple vampire at the sorry age of 15! wow, really? sorry mop-me-up but HARRY POTTER is FOREVER it will be red from generation to generation just like the C.S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien's books, now can you say that about twilight no i dont thinks so. twilight is just a horrible trend phase that will be forgotten in 4 years from now.

    • Colette

And to think that the main casts of Twilight are already complaining about people taking their pictures, getting mobbed by crazy-ass fans, etc. Let’s see if these people will be getting the same attention 4 years from now.

  • Backupsystem

i agree with you Niuzeb harry potter will own twilight ass
    LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER!!

  • Andrewtheincredible

You idiot, length has nothing to do with content. Order of the Phoenix had 896 pages, that was one movie. It has nothing to do with length, but all you twi-tards seem to think that length = content.

    • Savannah

What do you expect from people who read crap that devotes 2 chapters describing how Edward sparkles?

  • Andrewtheincredible

It's really not surprising that all these Twi-tards have extremely poor spelling.

  • Andrewtheincredible

WOW. That was a big comment. Although, pointless, because no-one cares or agrees with you. If you had read the books/watched the HP films, you would understand that overall, the books aren't about Voldemort, or “that crazy powerful guy” as you like to cll him. You say why can't you put a Smeyer book down? Because they're poorly written and easy to read. I read the first book, it was extremely easy to read, but painful as I read shit quality writing when I'm used to the quality of JKR. Your fandom is a craze, it will be forgotten in a few years. Harry Potter is a phenomenon, that will be remembered for generations and generations to come, since it's already been going for 20 years.

    • Celina

I’m not a fan of Twilight & Harry Potter, but after reading the longest & most pointless comment up there (bored at work, stumbled upon this post) I noticed that a lot of people rallied behind Harry Potter. Based on the numbers, it’s probably true that Potter is the better series. Am I or am I not correct? Coz according to my sister who have read the Twilight books and lived to regret it, Twilight was a load of BS. Neither one of us have read the Potter books, so was any of it good to read? Were they as stimulating as The Lord of the Rings?

      • James Sirius Potter

Every bit as good as LOTR. You should read them, you might be surprised at how much you enjoy them.

  • James Sirius Potter

To all Twilight fans who say ’700 pages is too long for one movie’ if Order of the Phoenix can be one movie (870 pages of nonstop action) then your 700 pages of meaningless drivel can be. And yes, I’ve read Breaking Dawn…it sucked! Nothing happened!

    • Sworthington

I agree, nothing really happened in that poor excuse for a book. Here’s the climax to BD: A bunch of vampires gathered in a field, ready to do battle, and guess what? Just because Bella & Edward’s freak of nature was proven not to be a vampire-child (which was illegal, and I have no idea WHY), then okay ceasefire! The End. They just talked. In a supposed to be battle sequence. Jeez, Louise! That was 10 hours of my life reading that sh*t I could never get back. And to think that was already the climax… Tsk tsk

      • Animeaddict519

maybe summit will be smart and change the ending to a battle scene. Have the vampire child bullshit stop the battle right before wimpy “vampires” are about to get wiped out by the other ones. Then the movie might be somewhat worth seeing.

  • Rambles

The whole idea of Breaking Dawn getting split isn’t that surprising…I almost expected it when I heard The Deathly Hallows was getting two films (which actually makes sense…SO much happened that it would be impossible to keep fans sitting there for 3 or 4 hours..). Honestly, if it takes you two films to cover the little amount of actual storytelling in that book, you are a really poor producer. While I prefer the Harry Potter series much more, I read the Twilight Series as well. I do know what I’m talking about. Like what James Sirius Potter mentioned above, it’s not the length of the book that matters when making the transition to the big screen, it’s the CONTENT. There is hardly any small detail you can weasel out in The Deathly Hollows, but if you cut out Bella going on about how sick she is, or how beautiful Edward is, or Jacob ranting about how hurt Bella is, etc, Breaking Dawn would be perfect as one movie. As it should have been.

  • Breelvsskg

Harry Potter is an absolutely wonderful series!!! The characters have so much depth, there is a plot, and of course the ever so popular theme of good always defeating evil.

While I have read the Twilight series, I will ALWAYS prefer Harry, Ron, and Hermione to Edward, Jacob, and Bella. ALWAYS. The only good thing about the Twilight series? Jacob Black-that’s all.

I can not wait for November 19, 2010–Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!!! <3

    LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER

  • samaire

the reason they split harry potter into two films was because every little detail, every substory in the book was extremely essential. i don’t think the same can be said though for the twilight book, so this move is clearly just a ploy to get more money or to try and challenge the harry potter legacy.

    • Andrewtheincredible

      well said!

    • Mrs Urban

Twilight can never challenge or even surpass the Harry Potter legacy, so splitting BD into 2 movies is to rake in more money for the franchise. I mean, come to think of it, there was really no exciting part in BD other than the sex scene which was even laughable. The ending was a joke!
