A couple of days ago we told you that Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) had been cast in the lead female role in AMC’s upcoming TV series adaptation of The Walking Dead. Now, THR is reporting that the series has added two more members to the cast: Laurie Holden (The Mist, The Shield) and newcomer Steven Yeun. They will now be joining Callies, Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey DeMunn and Jon Bernthal as the series gets ready to start filming.
For those of you that don’t know, The Walking Dead is a wildly successful and critically acclaimed comic book series by Robert Kirkman that tells the story of a cop named Rick Grimes and his family as they try to survive after a zombie apocalypse. Yeun will be playing a character named Glenn while Holden will be playing the role of Andrea, “a key member of the survivor group who has a proficiency with a sniper rifle and falls for a man twice her age.” The series, which is being produced by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption), is currently set to premier during AMC’s annual Fearfest programming block in October.
