The anticipated return of AMC’s The Walking Dead just got a little more hype today with the release of the mid-season premiere trailer.  After the devastating events of the mid-season finale, we find the survivors scattered to the wind and attempting to survive out in the wild without allies and supplies.  As the trailer teases, new threats and difficulties will test them all, as they are left without the relative comfort and security of the prison community.  Your guess is as good as mine as to who makes it out alive.

The Walking Dead returns Sunday, February 9th at 9pm on AMC.  Hit the jump to watch the mid-season premiere trailer.

Watch the trailer for The Walking Dead mid-season premiere below:

Synopsis:

Following the devastating events of the mid-season finale, Rick and the group are still reeling from the loss of their home, family, and friends. With the destruction of the prison, we see the group of survivors broken apart and sent on divergent paths, unsure of everyone else’s fate. What was a challenging life behind fences and walls grows that much more perilous and precious as they are exposed to new dangers, new enemies, and heartbreaking choices. They will have their faith thoroughly tested — a faith that breaks some of them and redeems others.

Can’t wait! Never been bored with this show, even in some of the more slower, character-building stretches.

Walking Dead trailers always pick out great songs. I still listen to Civilian by Wye Oak but they always find haunting songs for the trailers which is great.

They have definitely fixed things that weren’t so good in season 3 and I’m really looking forward to getting back to the show in a couple weeks, I can only imagine things are going to be getting even better, especially since the prison story line has finally come to an end.

Also the way the group is split up is perfect so I don’t think there will be any groups that I don’t want to watch when things pick up again and the bus is filled up with everybody I don’t care about except for Glenn who i think is the only actual non background character on the bus so it is going to be perfect for writing them out of the story, I just don’t know how Glenn who is still recovering from the near death sickness manages to be the only survivor of the bus.

This is the first trailer they’ve had with shit music.

thought by now AMC would realise that the rest of the world actually watches this show as well… just for once I would like to be able to watch the trailer (etc). Not sure why pretty much every other tv show in the world can handle this but they cant.

Oh you thought AMC cared about the shows fans? that’s hilarious.

I reiterate, I am hopelessly addicted to this show

Why can’t they just use the friggin’ ORIGINAL music by the original artist. I hate when they pull this shit. If Credence’s original version was too up-tempo, than pick something else. Don’t use some half ass cover.

Does anyone else think the excitement for this show will be gone once they launch the spin-off? I’m always excited for this show even with all the flaws the show has it is very enjoyable to watch but once it’s on year round in one way or another I think the it will end up making people sick of it.
