The Walking Dead's showrunner Scott M. Gimple and Special Effects wizard Greg Nicotero were on hand at the 41st Annual Saturn Awards last night, at which the AMC show shambled away with an award for Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series and a horde of acting awards. Nicotero took a moment to remember his first time going to the awards show before teasing the upcoming sixth season of The Walking Dead, promising a "bold" premiere that presents a puzzle that they hope gets the audience to think.

Gimple echoed Nicotero's statements about the bold and risky special effects and narrative choices the production will be making this year, saying that their first three episodes were already pushing Nicotero to his limit. Gimple's also excited for the prospect of exploring the changing journeys that each of the show's characters are going through after having survived such horrific experiences every day of their lives for the last six years.
