We still have a ways to go before The Walking Dead season 7 premieres October 23 and reveals what happened after Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) swung his bat. AMC released a trailer with tons of new footage dancing around the subject at Comic-Con in San Diego, and this weekend fans were treated to an even fresher look at what’s ahead.

Beware of minor spoilers from season 7 moving ahead, but a special edition of Talking Dead that aired on Sunday was all about what’s coming down the road. While nothing has been officially released at the time of writing, a YouTube user posted a clip from the special.

In it, we find the facially scarred Dwight, played by Austin Amelio, who was upgraded to a series regular character. While riding around on a motorcycle and kicking in the heads of walkers, he flaunts a new wardrobe addition: Daryl’s signature leather vest. Watch it below (via ScreenCrush).

Does the mere fact that Dwight is wearing his wings a foreboding sign for Norman Reedus’ character? In all honesty, probably not. It’s true that we can’t be too sure who will find themselves fatally bludgeoned in season 7, the fan-favorite Reedus (whose character is so popular the actor got his own motorcycle show on AMC) seems an unlikely candidate for execution.

The crew filmed multiple death scenes to ensure that the identity of Negan’s victim remains a secret, someone thing that’s been played up throughout the season 7 marketing. However, we do know that Khary Payton will play the tiger-friendly King Ezekiel, while actors Morgan, Tom Payne (Jesus), and Xander Berkeley (Gregory) have also been promoted to series regulars.

Until the big moment comes, fans have Fear the Walking Dead to keep them preoccupied before then. The Walking Dead spinoff returns for the second half of Season 2 this Sunday.
