AMC’s upcoming zombie-pocalypse TV series The Walking Dead is one of the most anticipated shows set to premiere this fall.  It got a huge reaction coming out of Comic-Con and now that the trailer they showed there is online, you can see why.  The trailer has got great music choices, a strong sense of melancholy and dread mixed with fun zombie-destruction, and hammers home the point made by 28 Days Later: in the event of a zombie apocalypse, the safest place to be is unconscious in a hospital.

The show also has a perfect premiere date: October 31st.  The series premiere, which was directed by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) will also be supersized to 90 minutes.  Now hit the jump to check out the 4:45 trailer. You can also click here for the roundtable interview Nico did with the Darabont, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, special effects/makeup designer Greg Nicotero, and the cast at Comic-Con.

I was really hoping this would start airing at the begining of the month. I guess I'll have to shut down my haunted house earlier than I thought, sorry kiddies. The good thing is I'll already be dressed as a zombie for the premier.

Thinkin its from Darabont, probably at the end, he would have to kill of his wife and daughter and then realize that he was the cure all along LOL.

Yeah, the part where he wakes up in the hospital.

Looks awesome, didn't care much for the camera work in the beginning but it picked up. Either way I'm watching this, its not every decade you get to watch a show about zombies.

from what i've heard the beginning of both the walking dead and 28 days later is an homage to an older zombie movie, but i can't recall the name of it. either way, the walking dead and 28 days later are completely different after the beginning. plus i think i heard Kirkman came up with the start of the series before 28 days later came out.
