The Weinstein Company is known mostly for its collection of small-budget films that don't lend themselves to licensing rights.  There was no speak-and-spell tie-in for The Reader and while a Rambo video game could potentially be awesome, it didn't happen.  But the studio does have franchise potential through their Dimension Films arm with movies like Scream, Hellraiser, Halloween, and according to the press release, Children of the Corn, because if there's a hot property right now, it's Children of the Corn.

TWC will "work with external partners to develop and publish video games for mobile, social, and console platforms."  I personally think this is a brilliant idea.  I don't need games based of Transformers and Thor.  I want a video game based off Blue Valentine where you have to keep mashing the X-button to keep your marriage from crumbling.  Hit the jump for the full press release.
