The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of The Witcher has reached the next stage in becoming a fully fledged Netflix series. Inspired by Andrzej Sapkowski's collection of books, which were made even more famous by the CD Projekt Red video game series, The Witcher is currently in the hands of writer Lauren S. Hissrich. Or more accurately, her pilot script is in the hands of the creative team who are now going to turn the 78-page fantasy-focused foundation episode back around with their notes scribbled in the margins.

In the meantime, Hissrich is taking to social media to keep fans and followers apprised of the status of The Witcher. As you may have guessed, not everyone on the Internet is either polite or open-minded about the adaptation, details of which are few and far between. Smith Hissrich has done a remarkable job of neutralizing said trolls, much like Geralt of Rivia himself. But if you're a decent sort of person and reach out to the writer with some honest and professional questions about the adaptation, you might just find yourself in an actual conversation. At the very least, Hissrich has been sharing short, descriptive tweets about some of her favorite characters from the series, some of whom might just make their way into the adaptation.
