Wolverine Broods Shirtless with Katana Sword in the Rain Overlooking Tokyo for THE WOLVERINE Motion Poster

I know this is lazy, but I want to retype the headline: Wolverine Broods Shirtless with a Katana Sword in the Rain Overlooking Tokyo for The Wolverine Motion Poster.  I mean, take out the prepositions and the articles, and the remaining words are all in my top 100 favorite words.  Fox has released a really stylish poster for The Wolverine, one they can be damn proud of.  The sound of the rain, the flickering lights of the Tokyo skyline, the occasional flash of lightning—it’s a great motion poster, made just a bit classier by the omission of the title.  The film is assembling a great collection of posters.

Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Wolverine in the James Mangold-directed spinoff.  The Wolverine hits theaters (now in 3D) on July 26, 2013.  Check out the poster after the jump.

Here’s the latest synopsis:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
