If you were one of the first sixty people to come to our Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz double-feature Monday night, you received an admit-one pass to The World's End, so you could finish out Edgar Wright's "Cornetto Trilogy".  If you liked Wright's first two entries in the trilogy, The World's End will surprise you, but it will be a pleasant surprise.  The conclusion is a different kind of movie in structure and tone, but it's just as funny and as thoughtful as the filmmaker's other movies.  In a summer full of disappointments, this is one of the few films that met my high-expectations, and I can't wait to see it again.

I’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 20 admit-two passes to the Atlanta screening of The World's End.  Hit the jump to find out how you can see the movie early and for free.  The film stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, and Rosamund PikeThe World's End opens August 23rd.  After the jump, you can also see photos from our Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz screening.

To enter for a chance to get you and a guest into the movie, send an e-mail with your name to Collider.Passes@gmail.com with the subject line “THE WORLD'S END”.  The screening is on Thursday, August 22nd at 7:30pm at Landmark Midtown, so don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable. Please note that a pass is not a ticket. To guarantee a seat, please arrive at the theater early since seating is first come, first serve.

And here's the official synopsis for The World's End:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again.  They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End.  As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s.  Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
