Focus Features has released a new The Theory of Everything image from director James Marsh’s (Man on Wire) adaptation of the Stephen Hawking memoir Travelling to Infinity, written by his wife Jane Hawking.  The film stars Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables) as Hawking and chronicles his budding relationship with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wide (Felicity Jones), heartbreaking motor neuron disease diagnosis at the age of 21, and groundbreaking scientific work in the field of time.  This image gives us a glimpse at the relationship between Hawking and Wilde, but we should have a much better grasp of the film when the trailer debuts this coming Wednesday, August 6th.

Hit the jump to check out the new Theory of Everything image, and come back on Wednesday to watch the trailer.  Also starring David Thewlis and Emily Watson, the film will have its world premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival next month and opens in theaters on November 7th.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Theory of Everything:

Starring Eddie Redmayne (“Les Misérables”) and Felicity Jones (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”), this is the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed. The film is based on the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, by Jane Hawking, and is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (“Man on Wire”).
