Though Iron Man 3 is the first Phase Two Marvel project out of the gate, we’ve got more Marvel goodness to look forward to later this year with the release of Thor: The Dark WorldGame of Thrones helmer Alan Taylor steps into the director’s chair this time around, and we know that the central villain will be Dark Elf Malektih, played by Christopher Eccleston.  There will also be a couple of other anatgonists featured in the film, as Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is pulling double duty as the characters Algrim the Strong and Kurse.

The Lost alum recently talked rather extensively about his work in the film, teasing the numerous fight sequences and revealing that he’s talking with Marvel about possibly working on another one of their movies.  Hit the jump to see what he had to say.

adewale-akinnuoye-agbaje-thor-2-sequelSpeaking with MTV News (transcript via CBM), Akinnuoye-Agbaje talked a bit about his character design and playing two different roles:

Thor 2; great movie, great opportunity. I’ve been a fan of the Marvel Comics and I got a massive opportunity to play two characters in the movie: Algrim and Kurse. You go in thinking, ‘Yeah this is great.’ But when you get in there, you’re like whoa;  six hours of makeup, prosthetics, all the physical [stuff]. But honestly, I loved it. It’s going to be such an epic. And both of the characters; I have blonde hair, blue eyes, pointed ears, fangs, horns; everything you could want as boy in an action hero movie. It’s amazing. The fighting was really demanding. For instance, Kurse is the one that does all the fighting. It’s forty pounds of extra weight and the good thing about it is that it’s very flexible and elastic. I have a routine before I put it on: I stretch and do all my pilates. You see this big creature doing pilates, it’s great. And then we’d have to go fight. Me and Chris [Hemsworth] go toe-to-toe. It was hardcore.”

Akinnuoye-Agbaje also teased a couple of other fights that occur in the film and talked about his character’s fighting style:

“[Thor and Kurse] fight differently. Chris has his hammer while Kurse is very animalistic, he’s got horns. So I tried to go with that flow. My movements are [basically] like an animal: twisting my body, turning my head, all kinds of things. Kurse is meant to be extremely powerful, nothing can stop him. It’s a great ride. There’s fights everything in the movie. Loki gets his fair share of fights; [one of which] is between him and I as well. The great thing about Kurse is he is having it with everybody. But yes, Loki has some amazing fights. [Fans] are really gonna be happy with this movie. Everybody gets their little shine. I won’t tell you what really happens, but there’s some great surprises.”

“As we speak, [Marvel and I] are talking about [playing in another Marvel movie]. Obviously, Marvel is a great family that I’m happy to be working with. We had a great time on Thor: The Dark World. I loved to continue that relationship.”

Marvel is currently developing an adaptation of Black Panther and Akinnuoye-Agbaje has made no secret of his interest in that character in the past, so could that possibly be the other project that he’s referring to?  I’d say take this with a grain of salt for now, but it certainly sounds like AAA had a great time playing around in the Marvel universe.  Watch the full MTV interview below.  Thor: The Dark World opens in 3D on November 8th.

If you can’t really tell its him through all the makeup, and hair, and fangs and stuff then I’m all down for him to play Black Panther. He’s kinda old for the part though. Mackie or Elba would have been great picks.

Mackie is Falcon and Elba is Heimdal (however u spell it) both are gonna be very seen on film. Both faces. AAA won’t be seen very well. Yes, I know Chris was The Human Torch and Cap and u could see both faces well but it was a different studio and not part of the current phase of Marvel movies. I think this is a good fit. I think if he isn’t Black Pantera he could be his father that gets overthrown and killed. So he would technically still be Black Pantera for a while.

Yes I know their already in Marvel films. I thought the way I said it implied that. Basically I was saying I wish that one of them(preferably Mackie) hadn’t been chosen for one of those parts so they could play Black Panther.

And I had the same thought of his as his father as well. Though tbh, the best person for the role as Panther’s father is Djimon Hounsou.

Chewetel Ejiofor would be my pick for Black Panther.

Not a bad pick. He was someone I thought of as well. He just looks kind of old for the part though. I know hes around the same age as Mackie but Mackie just looks kinda young imo.

This movie isnt coming around anytime soon. Prob will come out doubfully around 2016, most likely 2017, and possibly 2018. My pick for when this movie will finally be ready to be made is John Boyega. He’ll be around 24 or 25 years old which would be the perfect age. He can act, do action and has great charisma. Watch Attack the Block and ull know. I think he’d be able to pull it off and do it big. Just put Djimon Hounsou as his father and were golden.

You could be right about the age factor. However, I would like to point out that Misters Downey, Renner and Ruffalo are all a fair bit older than Mr Ejiofor. The other thing is that I suspect Black Panther may just be introduced in Avengers 2 before moving on to his own film. If I am right about that hunch then, based on his history with Mr Whedon (Serenity) and solid track record in mainstream fare, Mr Ejiofor would be an even money bet.

My choice would be Djimon Hounsou
