There are many strange recesses of the Internet, and one of them belongs to slashfic writers.  “Slashfic” is like fan fiction except it involves putting together any characters together in a sexual relationship.  It doesn’t matter what their relationship is in the official version; if they’re characters, you can make them bump uglies.  With that in mind, Thor/Loki slashfic writers must be ecstatic to see this Shanghai poster for Thor: The Dark World.  The imgur poster says they’ve used the wrong poster, but I couldn’t disagree more.  Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has far more chemistry with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) than he does with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman)

Hit the jump to check out the poster.  The film stars Christopher Eccleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, and Anthony HopkinsThor: The Dark World opens in 3D on November 8th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Thor: The Dark World:

Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor knows the secret: Loki is the only one… :)

you sure it’s not a Fan made poster like the Guardians of the galaxy poster was. There is something about this that just makes it seem fake.

    • JBug

They replaced nat portman with hiddleston.

    • 80sRobot

      Ya think?

Slashfic? I think I will just stick with my regular porn…

  • The Flobbit

This is just wrong. And Slashfic is utterly idiotic.

  • CowboyCliche

I’m not down with the two characters, um, getting down.

But the two actors? Yeah, I’d watch that all day.

Asian people discover and understand every hidden layer of a this kind of movie. :)

And the sentence ‘Thor/Loki slashfic writers must be ecstatic to see this Shanghai poster for Thor: The Dark World.’ is the dumbest thing I have ever read.

This is from a different cut only Chinese audiences are getting.

You should be ashamed of what you wrote in this article (as well as do your homework). A lot of “slashfic” might not include a sexual relationship at all, simply a romantic one (yes, there is a difference). And a lot of it is not as “delusional” as you might think (though some, I’ll concede, is, just like with all sorts of pairings).

Where Thor is concerned, personally, on a fully emotional level, I think Thor and Loki have a Hell of a lot more chemistry than Thor and Jane (or Thor and Sif, there is a reason why neither of these relationships actually worked out in canon, with the latter actually having Thor admit he is not happy without Loki and he goes to bring him back even with Sif not wanting that (and commenting with a helper that she knows she has no power to deter Thor from what he wants in his heart)– But because they are two male (!!!!) brothers (not.) this is all very wrong to some of you.

Personally, comics included, I don’t agree at all with that view (have you seen Blood Brothers at all? Please, don’t tell me it is not overflowing with homoerotic undertones) and I think Shanghai have it better than anyone else: This should be the movie. Hemsworth and Hiddleston only helped in making it so much more obvious to the people who don’t follow the comics all that much. Their chemistry is absolutely amazing and it completely makes every other relationship in the movie seem like a waste of movie time/space. Thor and Loki’s relationship goes way deeper than mere brotherhood, either you like it or not (it’s not just “delusional” evaluation). But alas. Whatever. Personally I love it and I wish the movie had had more Loki and less Jane (and a Hell of a lot more of Thor and Loki (Marvel, get a hint)).

I actually agree with what they said. Tad of a big post but they have very valid points.

Um, two men can have a deep relationship without it being romantic. It’s called a bromance. Ever seen Scrubs?
