14 New Images from THOR

     April 21, 2011

Marvel has released some more new images from Kenneth Branagh’s Thor.  Among the new images we have a good look at Rene Russo as Frigga as well as a nice photo of the Warriors Three (Tadanobu Asano, Josh Dallas, and Ray Stevenson).

Hit the jump to check out the new images.  Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg, and Colm Feore.  It opens in 3D on May 6th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Thor:

The epic adventure “Thor” spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

My only question is why of all places to land on earth and make for really interesting set pieces do u choose a small rinky dink town in Nevada ?

    • Michael

And why of all actors or actresses would they choose Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings?

      • norris

Yeah, why would any exec want to use an actress who is at the height of her popularity and just won an Oscar? What were they thinking!?!

I’m starting to get really excited for this. Initially I was great deal more skeptical, but it’s looking better and better. Not to mention that Rotten Tomatoes as of this post has Thor at 91% with 23 reviews and counting. We shall see…

This has to be the most surprisingly good movie I’ve seen this year. Truly!, I came if indifferent expectation and I have to admit, I came out happy. If you are indifferent about this, I recommend you watch Thor, who knows it might surprise you. (Stay after the credits for your daily dose of Nick Fury).
