The Thursday TV ratings for March 12th are in; here are some of the highlights (or lowlights, in this case):

  • Daylight Savings continues to drag TV down this week, with viewership down 7 percent overall. Even The Big Bang Theory on CBS at 8 p.m. was down four tenths to a 4.4 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, with 16.08 million viewers. But, it still won the night for CBS in ratings and in viewers.
  • Shondaland series faltered, too. ABC's Grey's Anatomy, also at 8 p.m., was down to a series low 2.1 and 7.38 million viewers. At 9 p.m., Scandal scored a season low 2.6 rating and 8.28 million viewers.

At 10 p.m., the second week of the ambitious (but difficult) American Crime on ABC dropped sixth tenths from its premiere, down to a scrawny 1.4 and 5.81 million viewers.
  • NBC's decision to move the struggling Slap to 10 p.m. did it no favors, as the miniseries slumped another two tenths to a 0.6 rating and 2.9 million viewers, less than a Dateline special (0.8, 4.5 million) which replaced it at 8 p.m. and was designed to act as a boost.
  • Speaking of NBC and struggles, The Blacklist earned yet another series low at 9 p.m., to 1.7 and 7.3 million viewers.
  • On the CW, The Vampire Diaries and Reign were fairly steady, with TVD notching a 0.6 rating and 1.33 million viewers at 8 p.m., and Reign continuing to post a 0.4 and 1.04 million viewers.
