2011 will bring us not one, but two Steven Spielberg films. December 23rd brings us the 3D motion-capture family film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, and just a week later on December 28th, Spielberg’s World War I film War Horse will be released. A month or so ago, we brought you the first look at images from Tintin, and today we’ve got some hi-res versions of those images.Tintin stars Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. Based upon the popular comic strip by Hergé, the film chronicles Tintin’s first encounter with Captain Haddock and the discovery of a clue to the treasure of his ancestor, Sir Francis Haddock. The first in a planned trilogy of films with partner Peter Jackson, Spielberg shot Tintin using the same 3D motion-capture technology that James Cameron used on Avatar. If this Tintin film does well, Jackson is expected to take the reins of the second film (though no telling when he’ll have time to get to it if he’s wrapped up in The Hobbit for the next few years).
