I quite liked two of director Ben Wheatley's most recent films, Kill List and Sightseers (I have yet to see A Field In England), and I just got on the Tom Hiddleston train with last year's fantastic Only Lovers Left Alive, so it's with no small degree of interest that I'm looking forward to the two joining teams for High Rise.  In the film based upon the book by J.G. Ballard (whose work also provided the basis for David Cronenberg's Crash and Spielberg's Empire of the Sun) Hiddleston plays Dr. Robert Lang, who is described as an "anti-hero."

Check out the full image of Tom Hiddleston in Wheatley's High Rise below. The film also stars Luke Evans, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, and James Purefoy in a role that's being delightfully described as that of "an upper-class nitwit." The film, with a script by Amy Jump, is currently on the market at the Berlin Film Festival.

Here's the synopsis for the novel of High Rise:

When a class war erupts inside a luxurious apartment block, modern elevators become violent battlegrounds and cocktail parties degenerate into marauding attacks on “enemy” floors. In this visionary tale, human society slips into violent reverse as once-peaceful residents, driven by primal urges, re-create a world ruled by the laws of the jungle.
