We’ve got a couple of casting stories to share with you today. First up, Tom Hollander (Hanna) is joining Ralph Fiennes in The Invisible Woman, the story of the secret love affair between Charles Dickens (Fiennes) and his mistress Nelly Ternan (Felicity Jones). Empire reports that Hollander will be playing Dickens’ friend and frequent collaborator Wilkie Collins. The author co-wrote The Frozen Deep with Dickens, and it was on that production that Dickens first met Nelly, who was a theater actress. Fiennes is directing the pic, making it his follow-up after his directorial debut Coriolanus. Hollander is probably best known for the Pirates of the Caribbean films, but I thought he was incredible in last year’s underrated Hanna. Fiennes has assembled himself an exciting cast (Kristin Scott Thomas will play Dickens’ wife) and I’m excited to see the film come together. Production is set to start in April.Hit the jump for casting news concerning the sci-fi thriller Snow Piercer starring Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton.ewen-bremnerAdditionally, director Bong Joon-ho continues to fill out the fantastic cast for his sci-fi thriller Snow Piercer. The film takes place during a new Ice Age on Earth which was the result of a failed experiment to stop global warming. All life on the planet was wiped out except for the few inhabitants of a train called Snow Piercer. A revolt ignites aboard the train as a result of a forming class system, and we follow the various passengers involved.Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, and Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer are already set to star, and now Variety reports that Ewan Bremner (Trainspotting) has been added to the cast. The actor will play “a father who joins forces with Evans’ character to save his kidnapped son.” Production is set to begin soon, but Snow Piercer is already becoming high on my “Most Anticipated 2013” list.
