Tommy Wiseau has one of the most unusual and legendary success stories in the history of Hollywood. He wrote, directed and starred in The Room, a film that became a cult hit not for how good it was, but for how good it wasn't! The journey of how that movie came to be and the response it generated was the subject of Greg Sestero's book The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made. Sestero, Wiseau's co-star in The Room and real-life friend, detailed all the trials and tribulations that accompanied the creation of The Room. That book was the basis for The Disaster Artist, a film starring James Franco as Wiseau and Dave Franco as Sestero, which became a mainstream success lauded by fans and critics alike, culminating in a win for Franco as Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.

In honor of The Disaster Artist's Blu-ray release, Collider's Mark Ellis sits down with Wiseau to talk about his incredible journey. Wiseau gives you a peek behind the curtain on the making of the film, including who was originally lined up to play him.
