The Winter Olympics isn’t the only major piece of programming poised to air on NBC in the next few months.  The network will be shuffling its late night schedule in a big way when Jimmy Fallon takes over The Tonight Show and Seth Meyers steps into his new role as host of Late Night, and now promos for both programs have been released online.  The Late Night with Seth Meyers promo is more on the fun side, complete with SNL cameos and some solid jokes, while The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon promo focuses more on the legacy of The Tonight Show.  It’s nice to see that NBC doesn’t completely gloss over Conan O’Brien’s tenure as host of The Tonight Show, but he certainly deserves more recognition than he gets in this debut promo.

Hit the jump to watch the promo videos.  The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon debuts on NBC February 17th and Late Night with Seth Meyers premieres February 24th.

Anyone would be better than Leno, he might be the least funniest person ever.

Like Fallon though, seems like a solid dude.

You’re right, they didn’t completely gloss over Conan O’Brien’s tenure as host, but he still should have gotten a lot more recognition than he has been getting. Personally, I think Conan was funnier in just over 100 episodes than Leno was in his entire 1,000 episode run. Regardless, Fallon is going to do a great job. He’s a really funny personality, who’s really creative when it comes to comedy sketches, and having The Roots as the house doesn’t hurt one bit either.

Jimmy is going to have the same problem Conan did: he appeals to a younger audience than Jay Leno has cultivated. Furthermore, Leno’s audience tend to be 40-60 year old Republicans, whereas Fallon has always skewed more to the 20-35-year-old Democrat demographic. Will he retain some of Leno’s audience? Sure. But just like Conan he’s going to alienate that older crowd who’ve grown accustomed to Leno’s flaccid schtick, and if he can’t attract enough of a young crowd fast enough, NBC’s going to see the same audience drop-off they saw with Conan.

While he definitely has a younger appeal, I think Fallon has actually done a really good job at staying politically neutral, unlike Leno and Letterman. He takes light jabs at both sides.

And honestly, especially considering all the marketing they’re doing, I don’t think consistent viewership will be an issue, even if there is a demographic shift. His Late Night audience will likely make a full migration to the new show, and I have a feeling he’s going to “class up” his act a bit to appeal to wider range of audiences.

Yeah, unlike Leno’s 40-60 age range demographic, Fallon’s audience knows how to work the remote and change the channel.

Watch out Jimmy. Remember what Leno did to Conan.

I don’t like Fallon. I just don’t find him funny. He has some good ideas and sketches and has the best band on late night tv, but, otherwise, compared to Craig Ferguson, for example, he is rather boring.

And I can’t help myself, but Seth Meyers looks like a downgrade, even from Fallon. Don’t know why everyone likes him in SNL, I found him one of the least funny of the cast there.

I watch Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, Ferguson and Jimmy Fallon. and i gotta say Fallon has the best hippest late night show band, he has a very good sidekick, he has a very good monologue writers, he does great impressions, he sings well, he dances well, he does some really fun games sketches. But, he is the most dishonest interviewer i have ever seen. He always suck up to the guests and he always tries to finish the guest sentences and he always love the guest and love the project of the guest who they come to promote no matter how lame the project is and he always hypes the guests projects. He doesnt say a single bad thing or be sarcastic to his guests during most of his interviews. I always try and not to look at

fallon during his interviews. because he doesn’t let the guest finish their sentences. I sometimes even skip the interview part and watch the rest… So, If Fallon has to be a hit and not repeat conan disaster. He really has to work on his interview skill and be a honest interviewer like kimmel, leno and conan or Ferguson. Other than that.. He is the best replacement for Leno. I will miss Leno unless Fallon works on his interview skill and be honest to his guests.
