On Collider, we bring you a lot of posters. Sure, it’s marketing but that doesn’t mean they can’t be the stuff you want to hang on your walls at home. With that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of my top 10 posters of 2010. The only rule is that the posters had to come from a studio. So if you’re wondering, “Where the hell are all the Mondo posters?!”, that’s why (they also would have taken up the entire list).
Hit the jump to check out my picks for the Top 10 Posters of 2010.

10. The American
While it still sells the film as more of an action movie (Clooney spends more time building a gun than actually using it), I like the retro-style they went for.
9. Rabbit Hole
A film about parents grieving with the loss of their son isn’t easy to convey in poster form, but this poster does a great job of showing the emotional complexity of the characters over the course of the film.
8. Winnebago Man
Even if you’re not aware of the Internet sensation who inspired the film, I like that they went with a hand-drawn look for the poster. I also liked that they quoted a part of Jack Rebney’s endless, profanity-laced tirade.
7. The Next Three Days
They didn’t have to be clever with this poster (and other posters for the film certainly weren’t), but they chose to do a little extra work and it paid off with an effective image.
6. Devil
This would be higher on the list but they had to put “From the Mind of M. Night Shyamalan” on it, a phrase which elicited laughter and booing every time I saw it in the trailer with an audience.
5. The Expendables (Spanish Poster)
While I didn’t care much for the movie, this is a fantastic design. While people may look at it and wonder if the movie is about acid-tripping luchadores, they’re at least going to look at it.
4. Kick-Ass (Propaganda Posters)
Parodying famous World War II propaganda posters is a nice approach for a film that’s about regular folks joining the ranks of costumed vigilantes.
3. The Social Network
I love the layout of this poster. Even though it keeps the title of the film small and off to the side, it’s a striking image and features one of the year’s better taglines.
2. Buried
You can’t go wrong mimicking Saul Bass.
1. Black Swan (International Posters)
I bought two posters for movies that came out this year. One was Martin Ansin’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Mondo poster. The other was the black-and-red art-deco design for Black Swan.
Honorable Mentions (in alphabetical order):
The Art of the Steal
Inception (IMAX Poster)
Let Me In
Never Let Me Go
Waiting for “Superman”

I would’ve put that foreboding poster of Hogwarts burning from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows somewhere. Bummer.
I would put Inception’s IMAX poster on my second place, rght behind Black Swan.
Those are beautiful! I love that you have “The Expendables” poster, especially in light of your Tweets while watching it.

It’s a swiss movie and I absolutely loved it. Though I usually disgust native movies, I enjoyed this one a whole lot.
Imo, this is one of the most interesting posters of the year, since it tells a lot of little stories within the poster which are all included in the movie in some way!
Cool list, but you missed a great one.

I know the movie isn’t released until 1/11, but the poster dropped in 2010, so it counts.
Great list, but I still think the Black Swan theatrical poster is one of the most beautiful posters I have ever seen. That would be my number 1.
This is also a fantastic poster…

These posters really do their job, by the way. I found myself remembering having heard about some of these movies and wishing seeing them.
Also, I will not publish a link to some other poster that might or might not be spam.
I agree on the design qualities of “The American”-poster, but if the movie is as bad and pretentious as this one, it’s poster does not deserve to be mentioned.
