If you're just tuning in, a few months back we started the weekly "Top 5" feature as a way of aggregating all of what we deem to be our best, most relevant coverage from the preceding week into one place. The hope is that you, the reader, will have already scoped all of this material out and shared it with your millions of friends (either real, virtual, or both). However, if for whatever reason some of it has fallen through the cracks, you can come here, check it out, and then share it with all of your friends (again, either real, virtual, or both). That in mind...In this week's installment, you'll find all of our coverage from Steve's Underworld: Awakening set visit and Disney's D23 Expo, interviews for the Guillermo del Toro produced horror flick Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and the Paul Rudd comedy Our Idiot Brother, and a slightly improved, slightly less puppet-friendly version of Yoda in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Check out brief recaps and links to all of the above after the jump.1. UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING Set Visit CoverageKate-Beckinsale-naked-sliceTypically, this is the space where I attempt to win over readers with a cunning, irreverent recap of the news item at hand. In this particular case, I think I'll just let naked Kate Beckinsale take care of that for me. Click here for a video blog recap of Steve's set visit for Underworld: Awakening (which features 30 things to know about the film) and make sure to check out on set interviews with Kate Beckinsale, directors Mars Marlind & Bjorn Stein, producer Richard Wright, Michael Ealy, and stunt coordinator/2nd unit director Brad Martin while you're at it.2. All of Our D23 Coveraged23-expo-logo-sliceLast weekend, we brought you a ton of coverage from Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim. If you'd like to peruse through the various interviews and recaps as a whole, click here. For those wanting a little more specialized touch (a.k.a. those wanting to know where The Avengers stuff is), here are our interviews with Robert Downey Jr. & Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner & Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston, and Cobie Smulders.3. DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK Video InterviewsGuillermo del Toro and Katie Holmes DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK sliceI've been looking forward to director Troy Nixey and producer Guillermo del Toro's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark since 2010's San Diego Comic-Con when I had the opportunity of catching up with the former and eventually nabbing a sweet limited edition poster that still adorns my wall. Now, with the movie finally coming out this weekend, I'm not ashamed to say that I'll be catching the film by myself while my easily-frightened fiancé cowers at home. All this aside, if you're as excited about Don't Be Afraid of the Dark as I am, make sure to check out our interviews with Guillermo del Toro & Katie Holmes as well as young star Bailee Madison. For those interested in some throwback coverage, we also have a video interview with del Toro & Holmes, a video interview with Guy Pearce, and my aforementioned 2010 catchup with director Troy Nixey. Finally, click here for Matt's review of the film which in no way speaks for the giddy excitement I'll most likely feel while watching it.4. OUR IDIOT BROTHER Video Interviewspaul-rudd-my-idiot-brother-interview-sliceI've liked Paul Rudd ever since he jumped on to the scene as grown Tommy Doyle in 1995's Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Since then, his career has slightly improved and taken a more comedic turn in the process. Nevertheless, I'll always remember him as the guy from Halloween 6. In celebration of the release of his dramedy Our Idiot Brother, we have video interviews with Mr. Rudd himself, Elizabeth Banks, Rashida Jones, and Emily Mortimer. Also, click here to read Matt's review of the film from Sundance 2011 when the film was still titled My Idiot Brother.5. THE PHANTOM MENACE Improves Slightly with CGI Yodastar-wars-phantom-menace-yoda-puppet-cgi-comparison-sliceSimilar to the Underworld: Awakening recap above where I let naked Kate Beckinsale do the selling for me, I'm going to let you really study the image above and come to your own conclusions about whether or not you want to check out this story.
