What do the above-mentioned properties have in common? Well, they’re spooky, will both appear on TV this October and have just released first looks at their respective posters. (Other than that, very little besides the word “story”.) First up is the poster for FX’s American Horror Story: Coven, the third season of the Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk horror anthology that will see the return of stars Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Denis O’Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge, Patti LuPone, Gabourey Sidibe, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, and Lily Rabe on FX starting Wednesday, October 9th at 10pm.
We also have a look at some art from Toy Story of Terror!, a Halloween special that will see Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang heading out on a road trip that takes a disastrous detour. Toy Story of Terror! premieres Wednesday, October 16th at 8pm on ABC. Hit the jump to see both posters.
Here’s the American Horror Story: Coven poster and synopsis:
American Horror Story: Coven tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.
And the Toy Story of Terror! poster (via EW):
Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl reunite in ABC’s computer-animated thriller Toy Story of Terror … Heading to the small screen before Halloween, Toy Story of Terror features the gang taking a road trip to Bonnie’s grandmother’s house before everything takes an unexpected turn. On a detour leading them to a roadside motel, one of the toys goes missing, and the others find themselves caught in an eerie turn of events that must be stopped before they suffer the same fate.
Toy Story of Terror premieres Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
