I can’t help but laugh that the trailer for Remember Me starts with Robert Pattinson’s character quoting Ghandi before getting into a fist-fight. I’m not exactly sure what the point of the film is other than Pattinson is a rebel without a cause and people beat him up a lot. I’ll admit that Pattinson good looking and the camera loves him when he looks like a real person and not an albino with orange contact lenses. He’s obviously trying to find a career beyond Twilight, but I’m not sure another dramatic romance movie where only a good woman can mend his broken soul is going to accomplish that.
Check out the trailer after the jump along with a brief synopsis. Remember Me is currently slated to open in theaters on March 12, 2010.

For those just tuning in, here’s a quick synopsis:
Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan). Tyler didn’t think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. But soon, hidden secrets are revealed, and the circumstances that brought them together slowly threaten to tear them apart.

can’t wait to see Remenber Me.
can’t wait to see Remenber Me.
Mmm, this is not a romantic drama.
It is more about how a family copes with losses and a young man finds an anchor in life. The story has a similar flavor to In America or Rachel Getting Married. The romance is probably only 1/3 of the story. And the script is really really touching (only read the earlier version)… Rob Pattinson gets Executive Producer credit if you look at the end of the trailer.
I would rather he ditches all the cheesy Twilight 3 and 4 and focus on meaningful projects like this…

Dramatic romance movie? Wrong. It’s a character-driven family drama. The romance is only a subplot.
I loved the script! I actually cried at the end. Can’t wait.

Please do some research if you are going to be reviewing a trailer so you don’t sound like an idiot because everything about your review is so wrong.
First of all this movie is not a dramatic romance, to be frank the romance is an after thought. It’s more of a family drama. Rob and Emile’s characters are dealing with the lost of loved ones in their family (Robs brother, Emile’s mother). This movie isn’t just another love story, it’s actually not even close to it.
It might surprise you but the script is written by Jenny Lumet who wrote Rachel Getting Married(nominated for an Oscar for best screen play). Also you might want to take note that the story actually has to do with 9/11. The ending of the script pulls a wtf and makes you look back on the film and go what just happened?
The script is amazing and will leave viewes heart broken at the end and make you question everything you just saw.

First of all, before you create a review on a trailer, you should do your research because the script is not just another chessy romance.
The plot is very well done, and it deffinately is tear worthy. Romance accompanies the family drama that is present due to the loss of both of the lead’s family members (Ally’s mother, and Tyler’s brother).
Robert pattinson is a very good match to this movie, seeing that he is a great actor who is able to display very intense emotions….
The ending is absolutely heartbreaking, where there is death. It takes the time of 9/11.
Get your facts straight, read the script, don’t base your reviews solely on a two minute trailer. (Although the trailer is heart warming itself)

I wish I could see this movie now. It looks like the kinda movie I like to see and the fact that Robert Pattinson is the lead character only makes it better. I’m a real fan of his!

Dear Collider –
Could you please delete the reviews that spoil the movie? Obviously people don’t understand that a review does not include endings and major themes. There are a lot of people looking forward to this film and it’s unfair that a person comes to your site to read about it and the movie is ruined for them involuntarily.

Really looking forward to seeing this. I think Twilight was just showing the surface of Robert Pattinson’s acting skills, can’t wait to see him in a role with more depth.
Other signs that this movie is going to be good:
1 – it has Chris Cooper. He’s always great.
2 – great songs in the trailer, especially “Asleep” by The Album Leaf (the one that plays about halfway through). That song is just about as dreamy as Robert himself!

I really cant wait 2 c this movie! The fact that Robert is in it just sugar- coates the whole thing. (Kinda like Ice cream, & you dont eat it till theres a cherry on top!) :]
Sooo cant wait 2 c it. I DID enjoy the Twilight books, but the movies are kinda lame, and REALLY dont show Robert’s reall acting skills. (I mean- have u SEEN those friggin awesome other movies that he was iN!?) Its like- How did this dude not cut the ribbon BEFORE twilight!?
But duz any1 know what its rated???????

I'm looking forward to it not because of the acting (although it looks strong) but instead because Jenny Lumet wrote one of the best 10 screenplays of the decade in Rachel Getting Married. It's difficult to tell whether or not the full movie will carry the same emotional weight as the trailer but it certainly looks like it has a lot of potential.
i am excited to see remember me not only because of the actors, although there are a few very good actors in the cast. but also due to the fact that it has depth to it that is hard to find in movies here lately, especially the family dramas like this one. cant wait to see it on march 12th
