With a July 1, 2011 release date for Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, you knew Michael Bay would be unveiling a teaser trailer in the near future. After all, they’ve finally wrapped on principal photography and he now has the time to cut together something cool.
And thanks to an update on his website (michaelbay.com), Bay’s revealed that either TRON: Legacy or The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has the first teaser trailer. He wrote:
I will give full details of my process and why I liked 3D in the next week right before the Transformers announcement piece comes out on Tron and Narnia.
Also, with some online rumblings that TF3 has been having problems with it’s 3D shots, Bay addressed those rumors head on. Hit the jump for what he said:

Wow, I read these morons on the internet who think they are in the know. “We have have problems with our 3D????” Really? Come into my edit room and I will show you beautiful 3D. There has never been a live action show that has pushed the boundaries of 3D like Transformers 3. We shot the entire movie with 3D cameras. I actually loved shooting in 3D.

While some of you hate Bay and his movies, I’m a huge fan. What can I say…I dig his movies and think he’s the perfect guy for Transformers. I’m also very excited to see what his first 3D movie is going to look like. Say what you want about him, but you’ve got to at least respect his visuals.
And speaking of Transformers, I’ve heard the 3rd film has a much stronger script than the second film (not hard to believe) and fans will be happy with TF3. While I loved the first Transformers movie, I had serious issues with the second. However, everything I’m hearing about the 3rd makes me think they’re going out on top.
More as we get it. And as soon as any Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon footage is online, we’ll post it asap.

I liked the part where they ran on foot to places that were obviously vast distances apart. That’s the magic of Michael Bay. It made me miss those hilarious masturbation jokes of the first movie.
lol wouldnt that be a lot like watching a world of warcraft movie? not the one that’s in the works, but literally watching some random player’s game as he walks his tauren from Thunder Bluff all the way to Orgrimmar. I guess it gives warcraft a more realistic feel walking everywhere in real time, then again, optimus prime is pretty damn realistic

You are a moron. It was Bay that ruined her character, not Fox. Name one female who has turned in a decent performance in a Bay movie… You can’t because Bay doesn’t know the difference between gratuitous and titillating. Face it, Bay is a terrible director and can’t tell a story to save his life. Replacing the only thing that made any sense in #2 is absolutely retarded and ruins any sense of continuity from the first movie…. 3 is going to be no better than 2 and anyone thinking different is making a fool of themselves…
Fox ruined her character because she can’t act. I absolutly agree with you on Bay. Than again can you name one decent Megan Fox performance…You can’t because she has no talent. Face it if she didn’t have the body she wouldn’t have got the part in Transformers or any other movie. Bay finally caugt on, so it only makes sense to cut her loose.
She was actually good in Jennifer’s Body, but that’s about it. Many things can be said of Bay, that he makes exciting action films, that he has a strong and interesting visual style, that he knows how to give the masses what they want, but it can’t be said that he is someone who “catches on.” I enjoyed the first movie, but I can’t say Bay is the brains of any operation, though his instinct for visual presentation is dead on.

Thank you standing up and saying you like bay. Even with some of his (sometimes many) flaws, he is no doubt a great director and creates great visuals only surpassed by Jim Cameron. I have enjoyed all of his movies. Can’t wait for TF3!
Really? He’s made two good movies; The Rock (which was basically Bruckheimer and Simpson) and Transformers 1 (AKA Spielberg’s boy-meets-girl story that introduces a transforming car)
Transformers 1 was boring. TF2 was amazing robot action.

Yup, I agree. I love Michael Bay movies. Sure, some are better than others, and Transformers 2 had its issues for sure. But overall I think he makes very entertaining popcorn movies. When I want to think, I’ll watch a Christopher Nolan film. When I want explosions and good ol’ fashioned entertainment, I’ll watch a Bay movie.

Ask that question when people talk about Uwe Boll. Fact is, Bay is one of the most powerful men in Hollywood right now, and he can pretty much do whatever he wants to do.
