Eight new images from Transformers: Dark of the Moon have been released.  This proves yet again that the movie exists and that it will feature actors and giant robots.  Thank goodness.  I’m glad we could clear that up.

Hit the jump to check out the images. The film stars Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand.  Transformers: Dark of the Moon opens in 3D on June 29th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Transformers: Dark of the Moon:

Shia LaBeouf returns as Sam Witwicky in Transformers:  Dark of the Moon.   When a mysterious event from Earth’s past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us.

Epic stuff, as always. Can’t wait for the movie!

As for Matt Goldberg’s attemp at humor…..epic fail, as always.

No offense at all to those who enjoy these films, but I’ve never gotten the appeal of vehicles that turn into robots and vice versa.

    • Come on Son!!!

Well go enjoy Something Borrowed or whatever other chick flick there is. Kill urself!!!

    • Guns Of Navarone

I’ve never gotten the appeal of vampires who sparkle and blow dry their hair but hey.

It’s something that we grew up with as kids. Make no mistake, these movies do those nostalgic feelings little no justice, but with each film, there’s always new hope. That being said, I’m sneaking into this one. There’s no way I’m giving Michael Bay my money three times.

Well, as I was worried about it seems that the useless 3D gimmick has ruined Transformers3 CGI a lot.

The Sentinel Prime and Optimus Prime still picture looks cartoonish. It’s really awful bad rendered, indeed.
Bumblebee CGI rendering is perfect instead.
However if there are cartoonish scenes in the movie it’s going to underperform badly.
This movie is going to look worse than the first two and it’s going to be a disappointment overall. It looks a lot cheaper. Too much marketing hype with Paramount paying reviewers this time to get some positive buzz, something they didn’t need to do on the first two movies that were a huge success only thanks to word of mouth because marketing was pretty bad while competitors paid all reviewers and put a lot of plants on forums to bring down the movie at any cost — and they failed.
This time Paramount with its paid for positive reviews is going to do worse than they think and it shows that they are worried about their product this time, they were confident on the first two but not this time.
And well, looking at how bad Sentinel Prime is rendered on that picture they surely need to be worried.

Oh, yeah…I’m sure Transformers 3 will just bomb. Nobody likes explosions or giant transforming robots beating the crap out of each other, and the second one did so poorly at the box office that Paramount definitely didn’t want to spend as much to make this one…so of course it’s cheaper! Also, CGI, as we all know, never improves as time goes by, so why *wouldn’t* Paramount be worried? Great points.

This movie looks cheaper and rushed. The CGI due to useless 3D gimmick looks cartoonish. It’s way worse than the first two. In fact Paramount is so worried that they are paying for positive reviews, something they didn’t need to do with the first two movies which is enough to prove that they need to cheat on people because they aren’t as confident that the product doesn’t disappoint. They know it’s worse.

The strength of this movie’s visuals will likely make it one of the top 3 earners for this summer season. The only 2 movies I could see coming close would be Cars 2 and the last installment of Harry Potter. The Hangover 2 could end-up squeezing into the top 3, but comedies don’t normally have the international appeal of effects-heavy action movies.

Moreover, I suspect it will give Green Lantern a limited window of time within which it can make its money.

Harry Potter will cream all other movies this year as far as box office.

Then this or Pirates of the Caribbean (already earnt near $900 mil)

4th will be Kung-fu Panda which will beat out Cars. Has broader appeal, and out of the 2, kung-fu Panda 1 beat out cars 1 by a fair margin.

      1. Harry Potter

      2. Transformer / Pirates of the Caribbean

      4. Kung-fu Panda 2

      5. Cowboys & Aliens

      • Come on Son!!!

Harry Potter will cream all over your face…kill yourself you Harry Homo!!!

      • Come on Son!!!

What i meant to say is Harry Potter can cream all over MY face. I love the texture of a grown mans loin sauce, i like to move it around in my mouth with my tongue. I especially like it with multiple men… i like to pleaure each of them with my mouth and taking there man meat deep as i can manage as they stroke my carefully parted hair….no homo, but i cant help what i like.

        @ Brenno

You’re right in that Pirates can’t be counted out… as it’s already raised the bar for other summer projects. I still don’t think you’re giving Cars 2 enough credit (the “brand” of those characters is extremely visible), and I think you’ve given too much credit to Cowboys & Aliens. The later is likely going to be a great movie— potentially better than most others this summer— but I don’t think it’ll bring in enough money to put it at #5.
