Another image from the set of Transformers: Age of Extinction has been released online, and it should amuse both fans and detractors of Michael Bay’s explosion-heavy style.  In the new image, we see Bay operating his own camera as he gets pelted with the products of his over-the-top special effects.  No Dinobots or shiny cars to be found, but it’s still neat to see the filmmaker embracing his reputation wholeheartedly.

Hit the jump to check out the image in glorious high-resolution.  The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles and Bingbing LiTransformers: Age of Extinction opens in theaters on June 27, 2014.

Michael Bay’s ego taking the reins again. I feel like this is one big vanity project. Bay’s just sad he doesn’t get a role in the film so he attempts to compensate by making his shoot as epic and million-dollar-camera-destroying as possible.

What this photo doesn’t convey is Bay swearing profusely at his crew while shooting.

Thanks for spoiling the fact that there is going to be an explosion in this movie. I was hoping to be surprised.

Proof that Bay aims his camera like he aims a gun and assaults viewers. Definitely not my cup of tea.

I’m not sure what happened, but that’s a pretty intense typo in the film title. Proofread your headlines a bit better. =)
