New Transformers: Age of Extinction images have arrived online.  In the movie, Mark Wahlberg plays a burgeoning inventor/family man who runs into trouble when he accidentally discovers a beat-up Transformer.  These images feature Stanley Tucci and Li Bingbing, and according to TFW2005, Tucci plays arrogant designer while Bingbing is the head of the human-created Transformers program, Su Yueming.  We still don’t know much about the movie, but I know this: Stanley Tucci will probably come out unscathed.  No matter how terrible the film, he’s always great (e.g. Jack the Giant Slayer, The Lovely Bones).  Of course, give him a great movie, and he’s unstoppable.  You can’t go wrong with Tucci.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film also stars The film also stars Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer,  T.J. Miller, Titus Welliver, Han Geng, and Sophia Myles. Transformers: Age of Extinction opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on June 27th.

I wonder whether Shia LaBeouf will cameo with a bag over his head? Can’t wait for this movie! Just kidding.

Hey. Matt, I’m a daily visitor on the site and always read your reviews. I was just wondering what you felt was terrible about The Lovely Bones? It wasn’t Jackson’s best movie but I still found many positive elements so I was just curious as to your opinion.

Jackson got hung up on visual effects and turning the story into a murder mystery when what makes the book special is that it’s a story about a family coping with grief. While Jackson was under no obligation to share that same theme, he came out with something that was so misguided that there are scenes where you expect Susie to say “Well, I was brutally murdered, but heaven is so much fun!”

But Tucci at least makes his character creepy and interesting. There’s a charisma, darkness, and complexity to his character that’s missing from the rest of the movie.

Thanks for the response, Matt. I hadn’t read the book but I could see where the ones who had would be bothered. Tucci was excellent, and I felt most of the cast was good but it was a mess, no doubt. I still enjoyed the overall film, but it could have been better knowing Jackson’s potential.

Based on other Michael Bay movies, I imagine this scene playing out a little something like this:

    (incomprehensible screaming and chattering)

(Tucci goes full creeper, for no reason in particular. Bingbing rejects his advances until his pants fall down, also for no reason in particular. He’s wearing tighty-whities with anime characters on them, which happens to be Bingbing’s thing, even though that’s culturally incorrect. She begins to hump him.)

(Megatron bursts in through the roof. Explosions, sparks, and incomprehensible screaming. A black guy appears in the next shot out of nowhere and says something wacky.)
