New Images from TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION Show off Optimus Prime and Bumblebee [UPDATED]

     May 12, 2014

Paramount has released some new Transformers: Age of Extinction images.  In the movie, Mark Wahlberg plays a burgeoning inventor/family man who runs into trouble when he accidentally discovers a beat-up Transformer.  While we’ve been seeing plenty of the human characters, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime get their due attention in these images, especially Optimus.  There’s an image of the lead Transformer, and I’m pretty sure it’s not going to be in the movie, but it’s so overly dramatic that I love it.  He’s on his knees, looking towards the heavens (do Autobots have a god?), and this is something that looks like it should be an oil painting on a wall or spray-painted on a van.  You can almost hear him screaming, “Whhhhhyyy?!” or “Nooooooo!”

Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film also stars Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, T.J. Miller, Titus Welliver, Han Geng, Sophia Myles, and Li BingbingTransformers: Age of Extinction opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on June 27th. [Update: We've added a new poster; also, Paramount has announced that a new trailer will be released in three days]

It looks like they cut back on the CGI Budget. It isn’t completely bad as by Dark of the Moon, they felt like they were comprised of too many pieces.

I think this is a great example of Bay’s directing abilities. He is piss S**t at story or creative or artistic aspects, but he can bring in a film with a constantly lowering budget that will return the same box office numbers. I remember he said that he found a better formula for these movies with a much shorter run time. Which to me shows his inability to make a story but it still feels like it is more of a budget reason than anything. If I recall correctly, the movie will be less than two hours which is despicable for a big budget tentpole blockbuster movie as far as I am concerned. And with this movie they have to introduce a brand new Cast, explain what changed with the Transformers since Chicago. Bring in the villain Galvatron, and introduce the Dinobots.

I think Bay would make a very successful CEO of a large company, because he would return a profit and see annual growth, but every single person who works for him would despise him as a ruthless and heartless and talentless human being who constantly has get a pat on the back as being awesome.
