Paramount has released the first teaser trailer for Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon and it’s extremely well cut and a great teaser. While many studios love to reveal too much in their trailers and sometimes even in their teaser trailers, this is a perfect example of how to sell your movie without giving it all away. Also, I love the way it works in a huge moment from the late 60′s and makes it connect with the universe of Transformers. I don’t want to spoil it…
In addition, I spent three hours yesterday with Michael Bay and he showed me (and a few other reporters) a ton of footage from the 3rd Transformers movie. In fact, he probably showed us a lot more footage than anyone at the studio expected. But because he lifted the veil on the story and some of the massive action set pieces, I can tell you with certainty the 3rd Transformers movie looks to be the biggest and possible the best of the trilogy. He knows the second one wasn’t what it should’ve been and he’s aiming for a huge improvement in terms of story and action. While he asked us not reveal any spoilers…I saw an action set piece that looks so fraking amazing, even with people firing guns at nothing and some shots just animatics, I was completely invested in the scene and I could follow exactly what they were trying to do. I was blown away by the footage. Trust me, the 3rd movie is going to be a huge improvement and you have never seen action on this scale. It also has a story! You are so right. That was a HUGE let down. I have humbly seen that when there is a trilogy and the 2nd movie fails the 3rd usually rivals the First if not improves. With that I am reservedly hopeful.

The trailer was really good, but after the mess that was Revenge of the Fallen it’s hard to muster up any excitement for the film. I want the film to be good, but I’m not counting on it by any means.

Yeah..no way that is Unicron seeing as how Unicron is the size of a freaking planet! My guess is we are seeing the result of an attack from Shockwave. Dead bodies everywhere and them saying “the hull is breached”. I would also guess who we saw at the end will be Alpha Trion. Yes the colors resemble Unicron and yes i read the same “rumors” everyone else does about him being in the movie. But unless Unicron IS the moon itself…i would leave it as just rumors. We are simply looking at a Shockwave beatdown from years ago. Old man Alpha Trion

Regardless of what a lot of folks have to say about the Transformers, especially the home boy bots from the 2nd movie, the movies are well made. Every dollar seems to be on the screen.
The home boy bots in 2 as well as Megan Fox not having a REAL role in the movie was 2 out of many reasons that the 2nd movie sucked badly. When i say REAL role i mean the fact that she was only in the movie as Eye Candy and nothing more.

first off michael bay hinted about unicron being in the 3rd movie, so uncron may actually BE the moon. as for the yellow guy, SuperScoto may be right. but in my opinion, shockwave is probably on earth hiding, or the yellow guy is shockwave.
as for the first 2 films, the first one was great, the second one, not bad, but not good either.
it has to be alpha trion waking from a slumber but maybe he is imprisoned by shock wave because he knows how to get back to cybertron and maybe he knows how to awaken unicron which is in fact the moon itself. so shockwave finds out how to awaken unicron and goes to earth to get the decepticons from earth to the moon soo the can blow up earth and the autobots. but the autobots are not going to back down and let Sams planet turn to dust.
thats what i think is the plot of the movie.
its actually either the ark or the nemesis judging from the bodies in the ship. in the old comic the nemesis was seen heavily damaged floating off, but on the other hand the first ark was destroyed on the moon with alpha trion aboard…unicron was still by cybertron during all of this cuz only his head was left orbiting cybertron after he lost the battle
