Jason Statham owned the Transporter movie franchise with his rules, ass-kicking and charisma, but he’s handing over the keys for an iteration meant for the small screen. The new Transporter: The Series centers on Frank Martin, an ex-Special Forces field operative who has taken to transporting precious cargo to make a living. While Statham made the role famous, Chris Vance (All Saints) will climb into the driver’s seat for the series. The premise is series worthy, but without Statham, will it be enough? Hit the jump to watch the first trailer for Transporter: The Series.
Vance is a veteran of the small screen, having starred in Burn Notice, Dexter, Prison Break, Mental and Rizzoli & Isles. While the trailer suggests that the action, romance and high stakes are all present, it’ll take me a while to warm up to Vance as the new Frank Martin. The series itself, however, looks to crank up the heat with a cast of leading ladies that includes Hungarian actress, Andrea Osvart. She stars as a former CIA agent who organizes Martin’s missions (and teases as a love interest). The series also features the return of Francois Berleand as Inspector Tarconi from the films. Look for Transporter to air on Cinemax stateside. Oh and here’s a look at Frank’s rules, ones you should keep in mind, should you ever need to hire him yourself:
- Rule #1: “No new deals, when it’s a deal, it’s a deal.”
- Rule #2: “No names,”
- Rule #3: “Don’t open the package.”
- Rule #4: “Never make a promise you can’t keep.”

I see they’re breaking out the Hanna soundtrack for the trailer.
Well there’s another waste of airspace we don’t need. *sigh* Crap.
Awful and terrible are the words…
I loved the original transporter movies BUT I just dont see this ( based on the trailer) making the crossover to series….or film for that matter.
Looks boring as hell honestly and badly written.
people who trash this only because mr. Statham is not in it should be kept away from society in order to protect new generations from their lack of curiosity and patiente
Looks way better than I thought it would. The driving action looks cinematic and I never thought they would film in the South of France! Also, the skinemax connection means it won’t be too watered down. Not sure about the lead actor, though. He’s pretty generic and lacks the flare of a Statham.
