After TRON: Legacy landed with a thud, I’ve found it difficult to care about where the story goes from here. However, Disney still believes in their black-and-neon franchise and they’re moving forward with the new animated series TRON: Uprising. The series will air on Disney XD in summer 2012 and cover the events between the original TRON and Legacy. A teaser trailer for the series has gone online and if you loved TRON: Legacy, then you’ll probably love this too. It has light cycles and stuff.
More promising is an upcoming remix of TRON: Legacy‘s outstanding score. Pitchfork reports that Disney will release Tron: Legacy R3CONFIGUR3D on April 5th and it will feature M83, Photek, Moby, Com Truise, and others remixing Daft Punk’s score. The remix soundtrack is available to buy in various special editions on the score’s official website. Hit the jump to check out the TRON: Uprising trailer and the track list for Tron: Legacy R3CONFIGUR3D.

I’m diggin’ it. ALOT.
I didn’t expect it to look this good or this mature. Looks awesome.
I’m really hoping that they have already planned an ending for this, and that it’s not the kind of kids show that plows on until the ratings dip and its cancelled.
I’m interested in watching it, but if it’s just treated like any other kids show I’ll end up having to wait until it hits Netfilx because I won’t put up with endless reruns.
I think it looks great. I was expecting something more cartoony but the mix of hand-drawn and CGI really works for me.
Also, I have a question. Why is Matt the one who always reports on TRON news? He hates TRON and makes it known no matter what the subject of the news. Can’t someone else write these articles so those of who enjoyed the franchise don’t have to wade through his constant negativity and bias?
Actually Frosty has written that last few, and it was nice to read those articles, but now we’re back to Matt again. I honestly don’t know.
Matt Goldberg, please STOP writing about anything related to Tron. Millions of people loved it. Get over it.
“Landed with a thud…”?
Are you kidding? The movie had a huge opening, did great box office, scores of people have seen it 2,3 4 times… if you don’t like a movie, great, but don’t straight up lie about it’s success or failure based on your dislike of it.
Here’s proof that this is far from a thud

End Of Line
Your point is a good one, but you neglected a major part of it by only looking at domestic. When you look at foreign box office, it did really damn well. Considering it recouped production in the domestic run, the foreign box office was all profit (minus marketing).
I saw an interview with Matt, he mistakenly believes that he has ‘edge’.
