The promising pairing of Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart is one step closer to becoming a reality.  Variety reports that Tropic Thunder and Men in Black 3 screenwriter Etan Cohen has been tapped to make his feature directorial debut with Get Hard for Warner Bros., which sees Ferrell playing a wealthy investment banker and Hart playing the guy who washes his car.  When Ferrell’s character is wrongly convicted of a crime and sentenced to a maximum security prison, he enlists the help of Hart’s “street-smart” character to help prepare him for prison life.  Ian Roberts and Jay Martel (Key & Peele) wrote the script, and production will likely begin soon given both Ferrell and Hart’s busy schedules.

Ferrell is also producing Get Hard, and he and Cohen are actually poised to team up again on the comedy Daddy’s Home, which Cohen is attached to direct for Paramount.  Hit the jump for news regarding the fascinating blog adaptation 40 Days of Dating.

Walsh and Goodman agreed to the experiment when both found themselves single.  They adhered to a set of rules that required the serial monogamist (Walsh) and commitmentphobe (Goodman) to see each other every day, go on dates three times a week, and take one weekend trip together.  It’s a fascinating experiment and, in the right hands, could make for one hell of a feature film.  Nabbing Scafaria to pen the script is certainly a big step in the right direction.  Check out the real blog right here.
